Triangular Ag–Pd alloy nanoprisms are generated by using Ag nanoprisms as templates through galvanic replacement and co-reduction of Ag+/Pd2+. These Ag–Pd nanoprisms exhibit superior electrocatalytic activity due to the alloyed Ag–Pd composition and dominant {111} facets.

We demonstrate a feasible synthesis of Fe/Fe3C/Fe2O3 hollow hetero-nanoparticles in situ immobilized on highly graphitic nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes via a hydrogel-bridged pyrolysis strategy for excellent electrocatalytic oxygen reduction.
