AbstractIn this work, we consider the solvability of a fractional-order p-Laplacian boundary value problem on the half-line where the fractional differential operator is nonlinear and has a kernel dimension equal to two. Due to the nonlinearity of the fractional differential operator, the Ge and Ren extension of Mawhin’s coincidence degree theory is applied to obtain existence results for the boundary value problem at resonance. Two examples are used to validate the established results.

It is well known that the complex step method is a tool that calculates derivatives by imposing a complex step in a strict sense. We extended the method by employing the fractional calculus differential operator in this paper. The fractional calculus can be taken in the sense of the Caputo operator, Riemann-Liouville operator, and so forth. Furthermore, we derived several approximations for computing the fractional order derivatives. Stability of the generalized fractional complex step approximations is demonstrated for an analytic test function.

Texture enhancement for digital images is the most important technique in image processing. The purpose of this paper is to design a texture enhancement technique using fractional order Savitzky-Golay differentiator, which leads to generalizing the Savitzky-Golay filter in the sense of the Srivastava-Owa fractional operators. By employing this generalized fractional filter, texture enhancement is introduced. Consequently, it calculates the generalized fractional order derivative of the given image using the sliding weight window over the image. Experimental results show that the operator can extract more subtle information and make the edges more prominent. In general, the capability of the generalized fractional differential will be high because it is sensitive to the subtle fluctuations of values of pixels.

We developed a somewhat novel fractional-order calculus workbench as a certain generalization of the Khalil’s conformable derivative. Although every integer-order derivate can naturally be consistent with fully physical-sense problem’s quotation, this is not the standard scenario of the non-integer-order derivatives, even aiming physics systems’s modelling, solely. We revisited a particular case of the generalized conformable fractional derivative and derived a differential operator, whose properties overcome those of the integer-order derivatives, though preserving its clue advantages.Worthwhile noting, that two-fractional indexes differential operator we are dealing, departs from the single-fractional index framework, which typifies the generalized conformable fractional derivative. This distinction leads to proper mathematical tools, useful in generalizing widely accepted results, with potential applications to fundamental Physics within fractional order calculus. The later seems to be especially appropriate for exercising the Sturm-Liouville eigenvalue problem, as well as the Euler-Lagrange equation and to clarify several operator algebra matters.

Abstract An inverse spectral problem for some integro-differential operator of fractional order {\alpha\in(1,2)} is studied. We show that the specification of the spectrum together with a certain a priori information about the structure of the operator determines such operator uniquely. The proof is constructive and provides a procedure for solving the inverse problem.

The methods for constructing solutions to integro-differential equations of the Volterra type are considered. The equations are related to fractional conformable derivatives. Explicit solutions of homogeneous and inhomogeneous equations are constructed, and a Cauchy-type problem is studied. It should be noted that the considered method is based on the construction of normalized systems of functions with respect to a differential operator of fractional order.
