Wave numbers of C=O valence vibrations of 83 ferrocene derivatives have been measured in tetrachloromethane. For a series of 154 compounds containing ferrocene skeleton linear correlation has been found between wave numbers of C=O vibration and X+(R) constants of structural fragments in the sense of modified and extended Seth-Paul-Van Duyse equation. Validity has been verified of the recently derived empirical relation for calculation of the X+(R) constants of complex structural fragments from values of constants of substituents and transmission factors for simple structural groupings. The transmission factors γ and π' for 1,3- and 1,1'-ferrocene system have been found to be well applicable to calculation of constants of structural fragments containing ferrocene skeleton.

Abstract Two consecutive outbreaks of group A Streptococcus (GAS) infections occurred from 2015–2016 among residents of a Chicago skilled nursing facility. Evaluation of wound care practices proved crucial for identifying transmission factors and implementing prevention measures. We demonstrated shedding of GAS on settle plates during care of a colonized wound.

Aim. Study plasmid characteristics of S. enteritidis strains in patients and features of epidemiology of the infection in regions with incomplete supply of population with local poultry production. Materials and methods. Plasmid analysis of microbe strains isolated from 382 patients and 8 samples of products was carried out, and significance of plasmid types in population morbidity was evaluated. Identification of salmonella was carried out by conventional methods, plasmid specter - by Kado C.I. and Liu S.T. (1981) method. Results. 98.4% of strains contained virulence plasmid p38, and 80.1% of strains also had small plasmids. Sakhalin strains were divided into 16 plasmid types (D=0.794), and strains from Jewish AO - 10 (D=0.834). Uniformity of strains in patients during infection outbreaks and in transmission factors was detected. Conclusion. Features of salmonellosis in the studied subjects of Russian Federation are determined by higher risk of import of products containing salmonella. Monitoring based on plasmid analysis is an effective base for epidemiologic control.

Aim: the goal of the study was to evaluate the heterogeneity of the Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica strains isolated from clinical specimens and various environmental sources in the Russian Federation during the period 20112019. Materials and methods. The data of 3076 non-typhoid isolates of Salmonella obtained from sporadic and outbreak cases of salmonellosis (n = 2518), food and water samples (n = 558) were used. These isolates were serotyped according to the KaufmanWhite scheme and genotyped by Pulsed-Field Gel Electrophoresis (PFGE) using XbaI and BlnI restriction endonucleases according to a standard PFGE-protocol developed by PulseNet International Network. Results. The studied Salmonella isolates were differentiated into 73 serotypes and 601 PFGE types. A comparative analysis of isolates from various sources made it possible to identify subtypes that differed significantly in their prevalence in humans and potential transmission factors (sources). A significant proportion of chicken, turkey, and pork meat samples contained PFGE-subtypes which did not occur in clinical samples. Regional differences in the heterogeneity of the Salmonella spp. were also identified. Conclusions. Genetic heterogeneity of the Salmonella population from humans and other sources shows significant variability of virulent properties and indicates the necessity of differentiated assessment of their epidemiological potential.
