This paper presents some results obtained from the computer simulation of a two-dimensional linear vehicle model with coupled bounce and pitch modes. The effects of variations in the ratio of front to rear spring stiffnesses and the inertia coupling ratio on various performance indices for ride quality and road holding were investigated. Two forms of input to the system were considered, ( a) isolated smooth bumps of varying length and ( b) continuous random type excitations. Allowance was made for the time delay between the inputs at the front and rear wheels due to the forward speed of the vehicle.

We propose a two-dimensional predatory-prey model with discrete and distributed delay. By the use of a new variable, the original two-dimensional system transforms into an equivalent three-dimensional system. Firstly, we study the existence and local stability of equilibria of the new system. And, by choosing the time delayτas a bifurcation parameter, we show that Hopf bifurcation can occur as the time delayτpasses through some critical values. Secondly, by the use of normal form theory and central manifold argument, we establish the direction and stability of Hopf bifurcation. At last, an example with numerical simulations is provided to verify the theoretical results. In addition, some simple discussion is also presented.

Graphene is the two-dimensional building block for carbon allotropes of every other dimensionality. We report the terahertz spectrum of Non-uniform graphene films based femtosecond probing with more than 6 THz spectral coverage and the 1 GHz resolution using high-speed asynchronous optical sampling, and it operates at 2 kHz scan rate without a mechanical delay stage. The overall waveform creates shock and the oscillation amplitude reached 0.37E-4 mV, main-peaks time delay is 151.83fs between graphene and substrate, frequency spectrum oscillatory fades at 2.8 THz and appeared obvious absorption peak.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to deal with a new generalized model of thermoelasticity theory with memory-dependent derivatives (MDD). Design/methodology/approach The two-dimensional equations of generalized thermoelasticity with MDD are solved using a state-space approach. The numerical inversion method is employed for the inversion of Laplace and Fourier transforms. Findings The solutions are presented graphically for different values of time delay and kernel function. Originality/value The governing coupled equations of the new generalized thermoelasticity with time delay and kernel function, which can be chosen freely according to the necessity of applications, are applied to a two-dimensional problem of an isotropic plate.
