Abstract It is shown that the image contrast in the air when using a microscope based on dielectric microparticles with a size of the order of wavelength can be significantly enhanced with the help microparticles that provide the formation of the radiation localisation region at an angle to the direction of radiation incidence (at an angle to the optical axis). For this purpose, a screen is placed in front of the particle, which blocks part of the incident beam, forming a photonic hook or a photonic jet (terajet) with oblique illumination in the near field.

This paper presents hybrid precoding for a non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) transmission scheme in a millimeter wave (mmWave) massive MIMO (mMIMO) downlink. In hybrid precoding, the analog precoder is obtained by the orthogonalization of the users’ channel vectors to minimize inter-beam interference. The digital precoder consists of a zero-forcing precoder to minimize inter-user interference. In order to break the barrier of one user per beam, we utilize the NOMA within the beam for power domain multiplexing among users. Simulation results show the proposed scheme’s efficacy compared to the state-of-the-art schemes and provide 1.48 times better sum-rate performance at 10 dB received SNR.

Wireless communication technologies have been studied and explored in response to the global shortage of bandwidth in the field of wireless access. Next-generation networks will be enabled by massive MIMO. Using relatively simple processing, it provides high spectral and energy efficiency by combining antennas at the receiver and transmitter. This paper discusses enabling technologies, benefits, and opportunities associated with massive MIMO, and all the fundamental challenges. Global enterprises, research institutions, and universities have focused on researching the 5G mobile communication network. Massive MIMO technologies will utilize simpler and linear algorithms for beam forming and decoding. As part of future 5G, massive MIMO technology will be used to increase the efficiency of spectrum utilization and channel capacity. The paper then summarizes the technologies that are used in massive MIMO system, including channel estimation, pre-coding, and signal detection.

In order to find the directions of coherent signals, a sparsity enhanced beam-forming method is proposed. Unlike the conventional minimum variance distortless response (MVDR) method, the minimum variance in the proposed method corresponds to the orthogonal relationship between the noise subspace and the sparse representation of the received signal vector, whereas the distortless response corresponds to the nonorthogonal relationship between the signal subspace and the sparse representation of the received signal vector. The proposed sparsity enhanced MVDR (SEMVDR) method is carried out by the iterative reweighted Lp-norm constraint minimization. for direction finding of coherent signals. Simulation results are shown that SEMVDR has better performance than the existing algorithms, such as MVDR and MUSIC, when coherent signals are present.

The diffraction limit is a fundamental barrier in optical microscopy, which restricts the smallest resolvable feature size of a microscopic system. Microsphere-based microscopy has proven to be a promising tool for challenging the diffraction limit. Nevertheless, the microspheres have a low imaging contrast in air, which hinders the application of this technique. In this work, we demonstrate that this challenge can be effectively overcome by using partially Ag-plated microspheres. The deposited Ag film acts as an aperture stop that blocks a portion of the incident beam, forming a photonic hook and an oblique near-field illumination. Such a photonic hook significantly enhanced the imaging contrast of the system, as experimentally verified by imaging the Blu-ray disc surface and colloidal particle arrays.

Abstract Aiming at the problem of poor positioning accuracy of GNSS for urban canyon environment, this paper proposes a TDOA/AOA combined positioning technology based on 5G.Firstly, the AOA estimation algorithm based on conventional beam forming is compared with that based on MUSIC algorithm. Then, the weighted matrix is smoothed forward and backward. Finally, according to the measurement data of AOA and TDOA, Chan and Taylor combined localization algorithm is used to obtain the estimated location of the user.
