ABSTRACT In 2003, Streptomyces mexicanus was reported as a novel xylanolytic bacterial species isolated from soil; a partial genome sequence was determined. In 2019, a strain from the same species was isolated from a hand skin swab sample from a healthy French woman. Genome sequencing revealed an 8,011,832-bp sequence with a GC content of 72.5%.

We report the draft genome sequence of Bacillus pumilus strain Bonn associated with human skin infection. B. pumilus Bonn was isolated from a carbuncle-like necrotic site, resembling cutaneous anthrax, on the back of the hand of a 10-year-old child.

ABSTRACT Staphylococcus hominis belongs to a group of coagulase-negative staphylococci and is an opportunistic pathogen, usually found on the skin and mucous membranes. Studies involving S. hominis isolated from wild birds are scarce. Here, we report a 2.365-Mb draft genome sequence of S. hominis BHG17, isolated from the feces of a bar-headed goose.

Dermacoccus nishinomiyaensis is a common bacterial resident of the human skin microbiome, among other environments. D. nishinomiyaensis strain TSA37 was isolated from the ash pan of a residential wood pellet stove. A genome assembly of 3,130,592 bp was generated, with an N 50 value of 197,547 bp and a calculated G+C content of 69.01%.

On the basis of multilocus phylogenetic data,Fonsecaea nubicawas described in 2010 as a molecular sibling ofF. monophora, an established agent of the human skin disease chomoblastomycosis in tropical zones. Genome analysis of these pathogens is mandatory to identify genes involved in the interaction with host and virulence.
