The work is devoted to the study of the second initial-boundary value problem for a general-form third-order differential equation of pseudoparabolic type with variable coefficients in a multidimensional domain with an arbitrary boundary. In this paper, a multidimensional pseudoparabolic equation is reduced to an integro-differential equation with a small parameter, and a locally one-dimensional difference scheme by A.A. Samarskii is used. Using the maximum principle, an a priori estimate is obtained for the solution of a locally one-dimensional difference scheme in the uniform metric in the $C$ norm. The stability and convergence of the locally one-dimensional difference scheme are proved.

The stable difference schemes for the approximate solution of the nonlocal boundary value problem for multidimensional hyperbolic equations with dependent in space variable coefficients are presented. Stability of these difference schemes and of the first- and second-order difference derivatives is obtained. The theoretical statements for the solution of these difference schemes for one-dimensional hyperbolic equations are supported by numerical examples.

The nonlocal boundary-value problem for a third order partial differential equation in a Hilbert space with a self-adjoint positive definite operator is considered. Applying operator approach, the theorem on stability for solution of this nonlocal boundary value problem is established. In applications, the stability estimates for the solution of three nonlocal boundary value problems for third order partial differential equations are obtained.
