The interaction of Ru1 with the triplex RNA poly(U)·poly(A)*poly(U) has been studied by various biophysical techniques. The results obtained here indicate that Ru1 may act as a sensitive luminescent probe for poly(U)·poly(A)*poly(U) in solution and can obviously stabilize the Hoogsteen base-paired third strand of the triplex.
