Simple Method

An empirical correlation between the kOH rate constants in air and in water is derived from literature values. A simple method to measure kOH in water has been used. In addition, it is demonstrated that the reactivity of organic chemicals with the OH radical in Freon 113 is proportional to their reactivity in air.
