An rGo protection layer fabricated on lithium metal anodes formed mosaic patterns, in which the interconnected gaps serve as the passage for uniform lithium plating/stripping. Excellent electrochemical performance was achieved even under high lithium influx and a limited Li supply.

In situ fabrication of Li–Al protection layer for lithium metal anodes has been achieved with ultrathin Al foil. The hybrid Li–Al/Li anodes demonstrate excellent cycling stability at plating current and capacity up to 8 mA cm−2 and 4 mA h cm−2.

Copper–organic framework-derived material is applied as a host for Li plating/stripping. The resulting anode exhibits dendrite-free Li deposition and high efficiency. The corresponding capacitor and battery display good electrochemical performance.
