Self-healing superhydrophobic fabric was fabricated by a mussel-inspired method using PDA@ODA–Fe3O4 nanocapsules. Fast healing of superhydrophobicity can be realized in 40 s under NIR irradiation due to photothermal effect of Fe3O4 nanoparticles.
