To solve the problem of unbalanced matching between planning task and personnel in aircraft assembly coordination process planning under collaborative planning mode, a balanced matching method based on comprehensive consideration of task granularity, task equilibrium degree was proposed. By analyzing the characteristics of aircraft digital assembly coordination process planning and personnel capability attributes, the evaluation matrix of planning task and personnel was builded based on fuzzy linguistic variables. Finally, the evaluation matrix was solved to achieve the balanced matching between planning task and personnel. The feasibility and effectiveness of proposed method were verified by an aircraft tail of assembly coordination process planning task and personnel example-matching.

A fuzzy rule-based expert system is developed for evaluating intellectual capital. A fuzzy linguistic approach assists managers to understand and evaluate the level of each intellectual capital item. The proposed fuzzy rule-based expert system applies fuzzy linguistic variables to express the level of qualitative evaluation and criteria of experts. Feasibility of the proposed model is demonstrated by the result of intellectual capital performance evaluation for a sample company.

Abstract This paper describes the ideas and developments that lead to a new Computer Aided Process Planning (CAPP) approach : a blackboard-style, interactive CAPP system, in which the human process planner is assisted by expert modules, each capable of performing a process planning task. At all times, the human operator has full control over all planning activities. An important reasoning mechanism, that is inevitably linked with the interactive CAPP kernel, is opportunistic process planning. The implementation of this mechanism in an automatic feature based CAPP system will also be elaborated in this paper.

Product configuration is the process of generating a product variant from a previously defined product family model and additional product specifications for this variant. The process of finding and sequencing the relevant operations for manufacturing this product is called process planning. This article combines the two principles in a new concept of process configuration that solves the process planning task using product configuration methods. The second section develops characteristics for two process configuration concepts, the interactive process configuration and the automation-based process configuration. Following an overview of the implementation of a process configuration system, the results of a case study in the aluminum rolling industry are presented. The main benefits of the process configuration concept are observed in a reduced knowledge-maintenance effort and in increased problem-solving speed.

Domain knowledge representation is various and domain-concerned. The aircraft assembly process planning (A2P2) is a special domain, a lot of things should be taken into account, and the knowledge representation of A2P2 is complicated. It is focused on the knowledge representation of A2P2 in this paper. Based-on case, the framework of A2P2 knowledge is presented. The main considerations of A2P2 are analyzed, the transformation and reassembly of native A2P2 knowledge is studied, the features of A2P2 is acquired, and the formalizable framework of A2P2 is proposed. With BNF, a formal description of A2P2 knowledge is given.
