<p>To solve the tool-making bottleneck, it is fundamental to integrate rapid manufacturing methodologies for rapid tooling, which reduces the lead-time to manufacture the tools while improving their quality. Rapid tooling (RT) is a progression of rapid prototyping (RP). RT is the art of producing tooling directly from CAD models of the part. RT technology plays a major role in increasing the pace of tooling development. This paper describes the role of RT according to the current market situation. An ample review of examples of rapid tooling indicates a new trend of tooling practice. This trend in manufacturing based on rapid prototyping and rapid tooling has already had a dynamic impact on the engineering environment.</p>

Background: Person with Alzheimer Disease may present cognitive, social, communication, physical, and orientation impairments. Furthermore, individuals with Alzheimer Disease may exhibit challenging behavior, isolation, and passivity. Objectives: To emphasize the role of Assistive Technology-based interventions and Cognitive-Behavioral Programs to improve the independence, and the quality of life of patients with Alzheimer Disease. To assess the effects on teaching adaptive responding, and decreasing challenging behaviors. Method: A selective literature review was carried out considering Alzheimer, Assistive Technology, Cognitive-Behavioral Programs, Adaptive Responding, Challenging Behaviors, and Quality of life as keywords. Twenty-six studies were reviewed. Results: Empirical data demonstrated the effectiveness, and the suitability of the selected interventions, although few failures occurred. The participants involved significantly increased their adaptive responding during the intervention phases, and maintained their performance over the time. Conclusion: Assistive Technology-based rehabilitative programs and Cognitive-Behavioral Interventions may be helpful for promoting the independence and the quality of life of individuals with Alzheimer Disease.

With the rapid development of modern industry, mold as a basic hardware facility has become one of the important factors affecting the development of modern industry. The surface quality and working reliability of the mold have a direct impact on the quality of the part. Faced with a large number of failed molds in industrial production, fast and reliable mold repair technology can realize mold reuse under the premise of ensuring mold performance. It effectively shortens the construction period, saves costs and reduces mold waste. The article outlines the characteristics of wire and arc additive manufacturing technology, selective electron beam melting technology and laser cladding technology in additive manufacturing technology. The application characteristics of three additive manufacturing technologies in mold repair are analyzed. The application prospect of laser cladding technology in mold repair is pointed out. In view of the improved work reliability, the direction of laser cladding technology in the field of mold repair can be prospected.
