Traditional measurement of multimedia systems, e.g. linear impulse response and transfer function, are sufficient but not faultless. For these methods the pure linear system is considered and nonlinearities, which are usually included in real systems, are disregarded. One of the ways to describe and analyze a nonlinear system is by using Volterra Series representation. However, this representation uses an enormous number of coefficients. In this work a simplification of this method is proposed and an experiment with an audio amplifier is shown.

Ο κύριος στόχος της Δ.Δ. είναι να αναπτυχθεί ένα συστημικό μοντέλοκατάλληλο να περιγράψει την λειτουργία της συσκευής κυματικήςενέργειας με ταλαντευόμενη στήλη ύδατος, επικεντρώνοντας τοενδιαφέρον στην μεταβολή της δυναμικής πίεσης μέσα στο κλωβό τηςσυσκευής.Η μεθοδολογία που αναπτύχθηκε περιλαμβάνει την χρησιμοποίησησειρών Volterra και μετασχηματισμού Hilbert-Huang με βάση τα οποίακατασκευάστηκε ακριβές και εύρωστο συστημικό μοντέλο για το μη-γραμμικο μέρος του συστήματος.Τα αποτελέσματα κρίνονται ως άκρως ικανοποιητικά και η μεθοδολογίαπου αναπτύχθηκε εκτός του υπολογιστικού κόστους που εξοικονομείμπορεί να εφαρμοστεί ακόμα σε μια πλειάδα μη-γραμμικών δυναμικώνσυστημάτων.

With the development of analysis and identification way to nonlinear dynamic system, people uses many different method to build up mathematics model to simulate nonlinear dynamic system. This paper introduces some important nonlinear system identification ways and a kind of Volterra series expression type in detail. This kind of way adopts Hilbert reproducing kernel method to build up nonlinear dynamic system model. Hilbert space provides a kind of effective expression type for Fourier series and transfer based on anyorthogonal polynomial. Volterra series function has very strict theory basic, which can be applied into many nonlinear dynamic system analysis and identification filed, and has broad practicality and application prospect.

In this paper, we will extend a Volterra identification technique of nonlinear systems. In reality there exists a large class of weakly Nonlinear System which can be well defined by the first few kernels of the Volterra series. In general, Engineers believe that identifying high-order Volterra kernels is a big problem and hope for the advent of better identification techniques. However, with the extensive development of the Volterra kernels’ identification technique, the situation may improve. The formulas used to calculate kernels up to the third-order are given.
