Age-related progressions, but not sex or ethnic differences (Negro-White), were obtained in children 6 to 16 on Bialer's Scale of locus of control. Test-retest correlations of locus of control for Grades 1 and 7 were not significant, despite the minimal shift in score by individual, because of the narrow range of scores at these grade levels. The absence of significant relationships between locus of control and measures of scholastic achievement, nonverbal intelligence, and occupational aspiration was discussed.
