Examination of recently collected material of the mailed catfish genus Lasiancistrus Regan, 1904, from French Guiana and Surinam revealed L. niger (Norman, 1926), and two new species: L. brevispinis and L. longispinis. The three species are described and figured. Lasiancistrus is compared with 13 other genera, forming the tribe Ancistrini of the subfamily Ancistrinae.

A little known tachinid genus, Metadrinomyia Shima, is revised based on four East Asian species including two new to science: M. flavifrons sp. nov. and M. xanthokolos sp. nov. The majority of the specimens used in this study were collected from low vegetation in the foothills of mountains in South Korea. The new species can be clearly distinguished from their congeners by their pruinosity, chaetotaxy and genitalic structures. A key, descriptions, photographs, and illustrations of the male genitalic structures are provided and the phylogenetic relationships among the species are investigated.

Two new species belonging to the enigmatic doryctine genus Evaniodes Szépligeti, 1901 (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), E.palikuri Braet, Ceccarelli & Zaldívar-Riverón sp. nov. and E. wayampisi Braet, Ceccarelli & Zaldívar-Riverón sp. nov.,are described from French Guiana. Two of the three previously described species of Evaniodes, E. areolatus Szépligeti,1901 and E. spathiiformis Szépligeti, 1901, are recorded for the first time for French Guiana. A key to the five described species of the genus is provided.

Two new species of the genus Neonerita are described from Guatemala and French Guiana: Neonerita bernardoespinozai sp. nov. and Neonerita martinezi sp. nov. Detailed species descriptions are based upon morphological and molecular characters as well as distribution data. These new taxa are discussed and compared to Neonerita dorsipuncta, species with which both new species were confused with up to now.
