From material collected by R. Le Berre in 1972 and by J. J. Petersen and B. Mondet in 1975, two new species of Mermithidae are described from blackfly larvae, including Simulium damnosum s.l., for the first time in West Africa. These species, Gastromermis philipponi n.sp. and Gastromermis leberrei n.sp. possess a rudimentary excretory gland and the preparasitic larvae of the former contain a characteristic caudal appendage which is lost during penetration into the simuliid larvae. Therefore, these two species are the only ones of Gastromermis known to have six longitudinal cords.

(Acari: Pygmephoridae), collected from scarab beetles Oxysternon durantoni and Coprophanaeus jasius, respectively, are described from French Guiana. Spatulaphorus brasiliensis Khaustov and Frolov, collected from the beetle Dichotomius borreus, is recorded from French Guiana for the first time. Records of 48 species belonging to the order Arthoniales from Bolivia are presented. Cryptothecia rosae-iselae Flakus & Kukwa and Lecanactis minuta Ertz, Flakus & Kukwa are described as new to science. Thirty-seven species are reported for the first time from Bolivia, seven of which, Alyxoria apomelaena, Cryptothecia darwiniana, C. groenhartii, C. megalocarpa, Herpothallon furfuraceum, Lecanographa uniseptata, and Opegrapha subvulgata, are new to South America. This raises the number of Arthoniales known from the country up to 72. Two new combinations are proposed: Alyxoria apomelaena (A. Massal.) Ertz for Opegrapha apomelaena A. Massal. and Myriostigma napoense (Kalb & Jonitz) Kukwa for Cryptothecia napoensis Kalb & Jonitz. Cresponea melanocheiloides is the second species of the genus shown to contain a xantholepinone. Cresponea melanocheiloides is reported as new to Costa Rica and Panama, Cryptothecia megalocarpa as new to the Netherlands Antilles and Guyana and C. striata is new to Colombia, Costa Rica, French Guiana and the Netherlands Antilles. Distribution data are reported for each species, with taxonomic remarks provided for new and some problematic taxa.

Revision of the genus Glenopteris Hübner, 1821, with the description of two new species (Lepidoptera, Erebidae, Erebinae). The genus Glenopteris Hübner, 1821, is revised and two new species are described: G. hampsoni n. sp. from French Guiana, Venezuela, Colombia, Peru and Brazil, and G. medinae n. sp. from Peru, Brazil and Paraguay. Neotypes are designated for G. oculifera Hübner, 1821, and G. herbidalis Guenée, 1854. Habitus and genitalia of the five species of the genus are figured and compared with those of the closest taxa. An identification key is proposed.

In this paper, M. yanomami n. sp., from Brazilian Amazonia, Chaetacis bandeirante n. sp., from Central Brazil, and the males of M. gaujoni Simon, 1897 and M. ruschii (Mello-Leitão, 1945) n. comb. , respectively from Ecuador and Brazil, are described and illustrated for the first time. An ontogenetic series of the last development stages of both sexes of Micrathena excavata (C. L. Koch, 1836) is illustrated and briefly described. Adult females are larger and have longer legs and larger abdomens than adult males. Probably females undergo at least one additional moult before adulthood, compared to males. Micrathena ornata Mello-Leitão, 1932 is considered a junior synonym of M. plana (C. L. Koch, 1836), and M. mastonota Mello-Leitão 1940 is synonymized with M. horrida (Taczanowski, 1873). Acrosoma ruschii Mello-Leitão, 1945 is revalidated, transferred to Micrathena and considered a senior synonym of M. cicuta Gonzaga & Santos, 2004. Chaetacis necopinata (Chickering, 1960) is recorded for Brazil for the first time. Chaetacis incisa (Walckenaer, 1841) is considered a nomen dubium.

This paper provides a comprehensive check list of Nolinae species recorded in Hong Kong, China based on the collections of the second author, Dr. Roger Kendrick and the Natural History Museum, London. The checklist comprises 30 species.  Two of them are new to science and described here as new species (Spininola kendricki sp. n., and Hampsonola ceciliae sp. n.). Misidentification of the female paratype of Spininola nepali László, Ronkay & Ronkay, 2014 is revealed and the true female of S. nepali is illustrated with its genitalia described here for the first time. The hitherto unknown female of S. armata László, Ronkay & Witt, 2010 is also illustrated here for the first time. All species recorded from Hong Kong are illustrated together with their genitalia on 54 colour and 46 black and white diagnostic figures.
