Authenticity in tourism has now been for many years a particular challenge for professionals in tourism studies. The concept itself is rather vague, but also useful in analysing the supply of selected tourist destinations. The focus of the paper is on the analysis of the elements of authenticity in the selected protected area of nature in Slovenia. As a case study, we chose the Škocjanski zatok Nature reserve, an urban wetland in the immediate vicinity of Koper. The restored and renatured area acts as green oasis and successfully defies various pressures on this sensitive environment already twenty years after its formal establishment. After conducting a field research and interviews with key stakeholders, we find out that the understanding of authenticity is important in order to preserve the biodiversity of the Škocjanski zatok Nature reserve and, consequently, its uniqueness (in the context of tourism development). This should also be the main guideline, and challenge at the same time, for the management in creating an adequate tourist offer.

Natural and cultural sites is a basic elements of tourism development in all over the world. Kazakhstan has a significant number of objects of nature reserve fund and the historical and cultural heritage, which, along with the development of health-improving, ecological, ski tourism, also contribute to the development of ethnographic, gastronomic, cultural and educational and other types of tourism. The purpose of the study is to identify traits of the most attractive tourist destinations, as well as to study the degree of importance of natural, cultural and dual (natural and cultural) sites for target consumers. In this regard, a comparative analysis of the level of tourism development in 14 regions of Kazakhstan was carried out, using a two-step cluster analysis, the degree of significance of three types of sites for target consumers was determined. The findings of the analysis suggest that the Akmola, Almaty, East Kazakhstan and Karaganda regions are in the greatest demand among tourists. Along with this, natural sites are the most important determinants of tourism, cultural sites are the least important. Thus, tourists in Kazakhstan are more attracted by regions with a rich natural reserve fund than by historical and cultural heritage. In this regard, it is proposed to pay more attention to promoting the cultural sites of Kazakhstan. To the authors' knowledge, this is the first study that analyses 14 regions of Kazakhstan according to their basic tourism characteristics, identifies attractions that are underutilized, and proposes strategies to identify opportunities for the tourism industry in Kazakhstan. In this regard, its results can be very useful in justifying the feasibility of implementing the relevant regional initiatives and making a decision to reorient the efforts of interested government agencies to develop alternative types of tourism.

Special nature reserve "Obedska bara" and its protection area is geoecological evaluated by using the recreation potential indexing method for nautical tourism and recreation sports of rowing, and for aerobic and excursion tourism. Evaluation confirmed that the left bank of the river Sava from Grabovci to Kupinovo, for the needs of nautical tourism, falls into the category of high-value areas, and for recreation is characterized as mainly valuable landscapes. Valuation of the alluvial plain for the purpose of aerobics has shown that fall into the category of ?mostly? valuable land. Land evaluation has concluded that the settlements Kupinovo and Obrez circumcised the category very valuable tourist destinations as opposed to Grabovci falling into the category of mostly hard-working but Ogar and Asanja are categorized as?relatively? valuable areas.

The karst lakes in Jiuzhaigou Nature Reserve are an integral part of the karst lake landscape, yet research on the formation mechanism for the color of the blue-green lakes in Jiuzhaigou is insufficient. With the help of hyperspectral instruments, coupled with hydro-chemical analysis, this paper elaborates on the unique color characteristics of the Jiuzhaigou karst lakes, delves into the color formation mechanism of the lakes, establishes a regression equation for the color of the lakes as well as the water quality parameters, and sheds light upon the causes for the color distinction between the karst lakes in Jiuzhaigou and the plateau freshwater lakes. The experiment shows that the Jiuzhaigou karst lakes are primarily blue and green, while the proportion of short-wavelength light in the normalized water-leaving radiance and the total incident irradiance of lake water is higher. Based on the redundancy analysis and the correlation analysis, travertine deposition is the core link in the color formation of the blue karst lakes in Jiuzhaigou, while the selective reflection and scattering of the suspended calcium carbonate particulate matters towards visible light represents the optical foundation for the formation. In addition, physical factors such as depth and transparency, changes to the water quality parameters that affect the travertine deposition rate, and the eutrophication process will all exert significant influence over the formation. By building on water-leaving radiance, this paper quantifies the lake color with the tristimulus values (R, G, B) via colorimetrical methods, which features solid goodness of fit with the linear regression equation established based on the water quality parameters. The principal component analysis and colorimetrical analysis show that the color of the karst lakes in Jiuzhaigou varies substantially from that of the plateau freshwater lakes, which mainly results from the difference in the water quality. Research conducted in this paper on the color formation mechanism of the distinct blue karst lakes in Jiuzhaigou illuminates the formation and maintenance mechanism of the plateau karst lakes, which is conducive to better understanding towards the relationship between the water quality and colors of the karst lakes, and provides scientific proof for the establishment of the water quality assessment indicator system based on the colors of the karst lakes.
