This chapter addresses the contemporary renewal of landscape art in Canada, arising at the intersection of visual art and cinema. Artworks, installations, and experimental films are discussed according to four categories: figure/ground, spatial illusions, the historicity of landscape, and digital scenery. Landscape—as a distinct art historical genre, conventional cinematic background, and ideological ground—has historically played a key role in Canadian visual culture. The contemporary artists and filmmakers in question have remade landscape in pictorial terms by remixing legacies from the visual arts and cinema and also in political terms, by calling attention to the damaged natural world of the Anthropocene, confronting Indigenous claims to the land, and foregrounding struggles over nationhood, identity, and collective memory.

The dynamics of life styles changing with an unprecedented momentum in the current Visual Culture Age; It affects many fields such as communication, aesthetics, visual arts, art history, art education. Visual culture in lifestyles that develop as a result of a process in which the individual is consciously or unconsciously involved; It represents an interdisciplinary field and refers to the connection of culture with visual elements. Having an aesthetic experience in the dynamics of life styles produced in today's world, developing a solution-oriented identity with a visionary perspective, presents a model of a qualified individual as a part of visual culture. Through visual arts education, which will provide a rationalist response to the requirements of the current era, activities that will increase the individual's life experiences and provide optimum benefit can be organized. Education has a great role in the integration of the individual into society and adaptation to life, and in this case, prioritizing a visual culture-based approach in art education gains value. As an unfolding of time-based events, gesture is intrinsically integrated with the aesthetic experience and function of the human form. In historical and contemporary visual culture, various approaches have been used to communicate the substance of human movement, including use of science and technology. This paper links the understanding of human gesture with technologies influencing its representation. Three-dimensional motion capture permits the accurate recording of movement in 3D computer space and provides a new means of analyzing movement qualities and characteristics. Movement signatures can be related to the human form by virtue of trajectory qualities and experientially and/or culturally dependent interactions.

Natural catastrophes are seen as a catalyst for creativity in interdisciplinary arts-integrated preservice teacher education. Preservice teacher lesson plans and implementation focused on natural catastrophes such as hurricanes, floods, tsunamis, and tornadoes advance an understanding of visual culture, creative production and civic engagement. Teaching visual culture involves border-crossings, from the conceptual to the tactile, and emboldening hands-on production in interdisciplinary art education projects. Professional artists' works are analyzed as responses to environmental and related man-made catastrophes caused by climate change. The impact of the professional artists' imagery and intentions act as exemplars for arts-integrated classroom practices inclusive of civic engagement. Preservice teacher education is enhanced by an intellectual flexibility inherent in interdisciplinary lesson planning and meaning-making projects. Empathetic responses to natural and related man-made catastrophes develop preservice teachers' classroom pedagogies that further global citizenry.

In the introduction of this paper, the concept of Methodology of teaching visual arts at the Teacher Education Faculty in Belgrade will be presented, as well as the challenges we faced as teachers of this subject due to the new epidemiological situation caused by coronavirus (SARS-Cov-2). The changes that have taken place in a global field, changed the way of life, communication, and schooling at all levels, have influenced us to adapt our teaching at the faculty to current epidemiological measures and possibilities in order to better prepare students for successful teaching of visual arts. This research aims to examine the students' attitudes about their experience during the methodological practice at the end of the fourth year of undergraduate studies, to determine the extent to which we managed to educate them for efficient realization of visual arts classes. Students of Teacher Education Faculty in Belgrade, who realized the final methodical practice following the current epidemiological measures participated in this examination. The results of the research will provide guidelines for future reflections and improvements in the conception of our subject.
