With the rapid development of economy and electrical load, the social power demand becomes intense. At the same time, the blackout of large areas at home and abroad in recent years has exposed the vulnerability of capacity of anti-external shock of the grid. While, distributed generation has many advantages such as environmentally friendliness, flexibility, decentralizing, high efficiency, good reliability, and it is considered to be a beneficial supplement for large-scale power grid in future. Micro-grid monitoring technology is able to effectively integrate the advantages of distributed generation and improve the capacity of self-healing and anti-external burst interference of the distribution network, in order to achieve grid-connected power generation by more green renewable energy, and minimize its adverse impact to the power grid. This paper firstly introduces the main features and problems of the distribution network monitoring. Then, the main function of the micro-grid monitoring system is described based on concepts and characteristics of micro-grid. At last, there is some suggestions for micro gird monitoring technology.

With the development of Smart Grid, the permeability of distributed generation (DG) is increased gradually. When a fault happens in systems branch, DG plays a significant role in ensuring a continuous supply to the load points as many as possible. This paper uses ant colony algorithm to achieve distribution network fault reconstruction with distributed generation, in order to guarantee the load points to restore power as many as possible, and the network system having the minimum loss at the same time. The optimization process is divided into two parts: first, In case of DG power supply capacity known, we optimize the capacity of the Island formed on DG, in order to determine the nodes of the island. Then, we optimize the isolated system and the main distribution system separately, in order to find the system radiation structure of minimum network loss. Finally, the IEEE 33 nodes distribution network is used as an example to testify the effectiveness of ant colony algorithm.

With the rapid development of energy-saving and environmentally friendly power sources, such as solar photovoltaic and biomass power, the demand of distributed generation (DG) systems connected to the low-voltage distribution network is increasing. Distributed generation systems connected to the low-voltage distribution network will impact power quality, security and stability operation of power grid. So power companies should strengthen the supervision of DG. Based on the research of domestic and foreign DG monitoring standards, this paper sorts out the DG relevant provisions in existing distribution automation standards, and proposes some modified suggestions in the existing distribution automation standards to cope with DG connected to the distribution network.

Introduce the current development of distributed generation, the structure and protection configuration of existing distribution network, and the fault current insert of different kinds of distributed generation was introduced. Through the distribution network in different positions to join distributed generation, the influence of the join of distributed generation on the existing protection of distribution network was analyzed, which included the serious interference to the sensitivity and selectivity of the original protection, the refusal of line protection, the action error of non- fault line protection. The influence of distributed generation on automatic reclosing, and the effect between fuses was discussed, to some extent, and base on the discussion some appropriate countermeasures are proposed.
