AWRK6 was a synthesized peptide developed based on the natural occurring peptide dybowskin-2CDYa, which was discovered in frog skin in our previous study. Here, a quantitative determination method for AWRK6 analysis in rat plasma by using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was established and validated following U.S. FDA guidelines. A combination of plasma precipitation and liquid–liquid extraction was applied for the extraction. For pharmacokinetics study, the rats were administrated with AWRK6 via intraperitoneal and intravenous injection. The prepared plasma samples were separated on an ODS column and analyzed by tandem MS using precursor-to-product ion pairs of m/z: 533.4→84.2 for AWRK6 and m/z: 401.9→101.1 for internal standard Polymyxin B sulfate in multiple reaction monitoring mode. AWRK6 concentrations in rat plasma peaked at about 1.2 h after intraperitoneal injections at 2.35, 4.7 and 9.4 mg/kg bodyweight. The terminal half-life was around 2.8 h. The absolute bioavailability of AWRK6 was 50% after 3 doses via injection, and the apparent volume of distribution was 4.884 ± 1.736 L. The obtained determination method and pharmacokinetics profiles of AWRK6 provides a basis for further development, and forms a benchmark reference for peptide quantification.

The growing popularity of nanosensors in various automotive applications requires new methods for counting the frequency of electrical signals, into which the measured non-electrical parameters are converted. This need is because automobile nanosensors are to register very small changes in the measured parameters that, besides, can change very fast. The paper proposes for use in automotive nanosensors a frequency calculation method based on the principle of rational approximation, which meets the above requirements.

Abstract This work presents a determination method of rainfall types based on rainfall-induced slope instability to eliminate the current dilemma of the inconsistent classification of rainfall types. Firstly, 5,808 scenarios of slope instability are simulated with 11 kinds of soil properties under 528 designed intensity-duration (I−D) conditions. Then through analysis of the I−D conditions when slope failure occurred, rainfall is classified into two types: short-duration − high-intensity (SH) type, and long-duration − low-intensity (LL) type. According to the analysis results, it indicates that rainfall types affect the initiation of slope failure, i.e., different I−D conditions will affect the slope failure initiation under LL type rainfall, while the slope failure initiation will not be affected by the change of I−D conditions under SH type rainfall. In addition, the results show that the classification of rainfall types does not depend on the soil shear strength parameters (cohesion and internal friction angle), although the change of soil shear strength parameters will cause the shift of threshold curve of slope failure in the I−D conditions two-dimensional (2D) plane. The findings in this study benefit to understanding the effect of rainfall type on the mechanism of slope failure initiation, which will promote the development of an early warning system of slope failure in the future by considering the identification of rainfall types.

The result of the works presented is the uncertainty budget of a thermographic temperature measurement taken through an IR window. The type B uncertainty determination method has been employed. Publication of European Accreditation EA-4/02 has been patterned. Conditions prevailing in course of the thermographic temperature measurement of low-voltage electric units contained in the switchgear were recreated as part of the works. The measurement system has been presented. Components of the infrared radiation reaching the camera lens in case when an IR window was used and when an IR window was not used have been discussed. Uncertainties estimated for the measurement done with an IR window and without an IR window have been compared.
