With the rapid development of economy and electrical load, the social power demand becomes intense. At the same time, the blackout of large areas at home and abroad in recent years has exposed the vulnerability of capacity of anti-external shock of the grid. While, distributed generation has many advantages such as environmentally friendliness, flexibility, decentralizing, high efficiency, good reliability, and it is considered to be a beneficial supplement for large-scale power grid in future. Micro-grid monitoring technology is able to effectively integrate the advantages of distributed generation and improve the capacity of self-healing and anti-external burst interference of the distribution network, in order to achieve grid-connected power generation by more green renewable energy, and minimize its adverse impact to the power grid. This paper firstly introduces the main features and problems of the distribution network monitoring. Then, the main function of the micro-grid monitoring system is described based on concepts and characteristics of micro-grid. At last, there is some suggestions for micro gird monitoring technology.

With the rapid development of energy-saving and environmentally friendly power sources, such as solar photovoltaic and biomass power, the demand of distributed generation (DG) systems connected to the low-voltage distribution network is increasing. Distributed generation systems connected to the low-voltage distribution network will impact power quality, security and stability operation of power grid. So power companies should strengthen the supervision of DG. Based on the research of domestic and foreign DG monitoring standards, this paper sorts out the DG relevant provisions in existing distribution automation standards, and proposes some modified suggestions in the existing distribution automation standards to cope with DG connected to the distribution network.

The scheme of intelligent Building based on distributed generation and micro-grid is presented in this paper. There are five parts in the scheme: distributed generation, storage device, charge-discharge device of EV, micro-grid control and energy management system, smart home system. The scheme of the intelligent building in this paper has been realized in displayed project of intelligent community in china. The feasibility of establishing a micro grid system at the branch of power grid is analyzed after evaluating the performance of the micro grid system on saving power, reducing cost in transmit line, and increasing the security. Due to the analysis, this micro system has good performance in these aspects and has a great future in the power grid.

In light of the rapid development of the electric power grid, the integrated application of distributed generation (DG) units can be considered as a key driver. Nevertheless, along with large number of DG units are connected into a distribution network, maybe different kinds of effects are accordingly induced. In particular, regarding the configured relay protection, its selectivity and sensitivity may be affected. In this paper, the penetration capacity analysis of DG considering overcurrent relay protection and flux-coupling type FCL is conducted. Under different fault conditions, the theoretical impacts of introducing DG on the fault current are investigated, and a flux-coupling type FCL is suggested to limit the fault current and potentially enhance the DG’s access capacity. Furthermore, the detailed simulation model of a typical distribution network integrated with the DG and FCL is created. From the simulation results, the employment of the FCL can effectively reduce the fault current’s negative influence on the DG, and improve the DG’s access capacity to a certain extent.

Recent years, traditional radiate passive power distribution will become an active power with many medium or small power sources and loads, when distributed generation by new energy (such as wind power or photovoltaic power) are connected to power grid more and more. This change of power distribution brings large harm to security of power grid. This paper proposed a micro-grid system without inverse-power-flow based on distributed generation, which center controller and load controller are deployed, and distribution powers, loads and load controllers are partitioned into different domains connected to micro-grid by controllable switch. The function of main units of micro-grid is discussed; as well as the operation strategy of micro grid based on distributed generation is studied. Finally, the experiment results show the feasibility of the proposed micro-grid system.

Electric power industry as an indispensable energy supply in daily life and production, which is the main motive force of equipment operation in the industrial times. Therefore, in order to meet the development needs and ensure the safety of power supply, it is necessary to optimize and transform the power grid. So that energy conservation and security of supply and demand can be ensured. In this paper, the short-circuit calculation and optimization design of distributed power distribution network are studied deeply, aiming at improving the performance of power grid and promoting the rapid development and transformation of power industry.

With the orderly advancement of power system reform and the rapid development of incremental power distribution pilots, the investment process of power grid companies has become more and more transparent and standardized. However, in the current fierce environment, how to maintain certain economic benefits in various regional distribution networks has become a problem of concern. This paper establishes a distribution network asset economic index system from the three dimensions of investment cost, operating cost, and economic benefit. The hierarchical structure of indicators is clarified based on the interpretative structural model, and the economic level is measured based on the improved analytical hierarchy process AHP-fuzzy evaluation model. Finally, the analysis of calculation examples shows that: (1) The investment cost and operating cost of the distribution network indirectly affect the economic benefits of the power grid by affecting the electricity sales. (2) The economic levels of the distribution network in the three regions of X, Y, and Z are good, medium, and poor. The region X needs to strengthen the management of distribution network investment, and the region Y continues to improve the economy from all aspects of cost and income. The first thing in region Z is to improve the level of economic efficiency.

Power grid planning is an important part in the development of power grid. With the rapid development of urban construction and electricity demand in recent years, electric power construction is faced with more kinds of pressure, such as land resources/environmental protection. In this paper, the difficulty of power grid planning is increasing rapidly. How to build a distribution network that the load and the urban construction can develop concordantly has become a key issue to be solved in the future. The traditional methods of distribution network planning focus on the grasp of the overall, whereas lack adequate consideration of the spatial distribution of load and planning of urban development. Thus, this paper proposes a method based on spatial load forecasting of urban distribution network planning g, and fully considers the load distribution of the space characteristics and urban construction. This method can make up for the defects of traditional methods effectively, thus has certain value and reference significance.
