Born’s approximation has been used to calculate total elastic and inelastic cross-sections and angular distributions for the scattering of neutrons by deuterons at incident energies of 100, 200 and 300 MeV. The nuclear potential has been taken to be a mixture of central and non-central interactions of the type √ 12 = I 12 (1 - 1/2 g + 1/2 g σ 1 σ 2 + γS 12 ) V(r) , where S 12 = r -2 3σ 1 . rσ 2 . r-σ 1 . σ 2 . Four types of isotopic factor I 12 , giving exchange properties of the neutral, charge exchange, symmetrical and Serber theories, have been investigated. The effect on the scattering of including the D wave of the ground state of the deuteron has been estimated.

A generalized form of Band's theory for rearrangement collisions based on the two state approximation in time dependent quantum-mechanical formalism is used to investigate the positron hydrogen charge exchange problem. The formalism takes into account the nonorthogonality of the rearrangement channel. The effect of nonorthogonality is to raise the cross sections from first Born results. At high energies our results approach Born results. Comparison with other calculations is also reported in the energy region 1.5 to 10 Ry.

The charge exchange forward scattering amplitude 1.1 1.2 using an interpolation of the total cross sections which includes the results presented by Dr Galbraith at this meeting. From F (-) follows a prediction for the charge exchange forward cross section (c.m. system) 1.3 which will be compared with the experimental data including those presented by Dr Falk-Vairant and Dr Guerriero.

The nuclear isotopic structure can be understood easily via the intermediate-energy charge exchange reactions of (p, n) and [Formula: see text]He, [Formula: see text] type. In the current contribution, we present some results for charge exchange reactions induced by 3He on targets lying in mass region [Formula: see text] within the theoretical framework of plane wave impulse approximation (PWIA) and distorted wave impulse approximation (DWIA). Here, the recoil effects in PWIA have also been considered. Particularly, the angular distributions and the unit cross-sections have been calculated and compared with the available data. Further, the importance of inclusion of the exchange contribution in these reactions is also considered, which eventually enhance the matching with data.
