The title compound, D-(+)-glucosammonium potassium tetrathiocyanatocobaltate(II) dihydrate, K(C6H14NO5)[Co(NCS)4]·2H2O or (GlcNH)(K)[Co(NCS)4]·2H2O, has been obtained as a side product of an incomplete salt metathesis reaction of D-(+)-glucosamine hydrochloride (GlcN·HCl) and K2[Co(NCS)4]. The asymmetric unit contains a D-(+)-glucosammonium cation, a potassium cation, a tetraisothiocyanatocobalt(II) complex anion and two water molecules. The water molecules coordinate to the potassium cation, which is further coordinated via three short K+...SCN− contacts involving three [Co(NCS)4]2− complex anions and via three O atoms of two D-(+)-glucosammonium cations, leading to an overall eightfold coordination around the potassium cation. Hydrogen-bonding interactions between the building blocks consolidate the three-dimensional arrangement.

In the title compound, [Ni(C13H17N3)2]Cl2·3.5H2O, the geometry of the NiN6complex cation is slightly distorted octahedral, with a facial arrangement of the two tridentateN-[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl]quinolin-8-amine ligands around the metal ion. The asymmetric unit consists of two independent complex half-molecules located on centres of inversion, together with two chloride counter-anions and 3.5 water molecules of solvation, one of which is disordered across an inversion centre. In the crystal, O—H...O, O—H...Cl and N—H...Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions form a three-dimensional network structure.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ag3Yb(C5HN2O4)2(H2O)2]n, contains three AgIions, one YbIIIion, two imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands and two coordinating water molecules. The YbIIIatom is eight-coordinated, in a bicapped trigonal prismatic coordination geometry, by six O atoms from three imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands and two coordinating water molecules. The two-coordinated AgIions exhibit three types of coordination environments. One AgIatom is bonded to two N atoms from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands. The other two AgIatoms are each coordinated by one O atom and one N atom from two different imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands. These metal coordination units are connected by bridging imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylate ligands, generating a two-dimensional heterometallic layer. These layers are stacked along theaaxisviaO—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions to generate a three-dimensional framework.

The asymmetric unit of the title salt, 2C12H28N+·SO4 2−·3H2O, contains two n-dodecylammonium cations, one sulfate anion and three water molecules. In the crystal, N—H...O hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into layers parallel to (100). These layers are further connected through O—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions involving the sulfate ions and the isolated water molecules. The three-dimensional structure can also be considered as the superposition of thin inorganic layers of SO4 2− anions and thick layers of alkylammonium cations perpendicular to the c axis.

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C13H17N2O)2[ZnCl4]·2H2O, contains two tetrahydroharmine cations, one tetrachlorozincate(II) anion and two water molecules. In the cations, the two 1H-indole ring systems are essentially planar, with maximum deviations of 0.016 (2) and 0.018 (2) Å, and both tetrahydropyridinium rings show a half-chair conformation. The ZnIIcomplex anion has a distorted tetrahedral geometry. In the crystal, intermolecular N—H...O, N—H...Cl, O—H...O, O—H...Cl and C—H...O hydrogen bonds link the components into a three-dimensional network. A π–π interaction with a centroid–centroid distance of 3.542 (14) Å is also observed.

In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C5H6ClN2)[Cr(C2O4)2(H2O)2]·1.5H2O, the CrIII atom adopts a distorted octahedral geometry being coordinated by two O atoms of two cis water molecules and four O atoms from two chelating oxalate dianions. The cis-diaquadioxalatochromate(III) anions, 2-amino-5-chloropyridinium cations and uncoordinated water molecules are linked into a three-dimensional supramolecular array by O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen-bonding interactions. One of the two independent lattice water molecules is situated on a twofold rotation axis.

The title compounds,catena-poly[[[bis[(R)-propane-1,2-diamine-κ2N,N′]copper(II)]-μ-cyanido-κ2N:C-[tris(cyanido-κC)(nitroso-κN)iron(III)]-μ-cyanido-κ2C:N] monohydrate], {[Cu(Lpn)2][Fe(CN)5(NO)]·H2O}n, (I), and poly[[hexa-μ-cyanido-κ12C:N-hexacyanido-κ6C-hexakis[(R)-propane-1,2-diamine-κ2N,N′]dichromium(III)tricopper(II)] pentahydrate], {[Cu(Lpn)2]3[Cr(CN)6]2·5H2O}n, (II) [where Lpn = (R)-propane-1,2-diamine, C3H10N2], are new chiral cyanide-bridged bimetallic coordination polymers. The asymmetric unit of compound (I) is composed of two independent cation–anion units of {[Cu(Lpn)2][Fe(CN)5)(NO)]} and two water molecules. The FeIIIatoms have distorted octahedral geometries, while the CuIIatoms can be considered to be pentacoordinate. In the crystal, however, the units align to form zigzag cyanide-bridged chains propagating along [101]. Hence, the CuIIatoms have distorted octahedral coordination spheres with extremely long semicoordination Cu—N(cyanido) bridging bonds. The chains are linked by O—H...N and N—H...N hydrogen bonds, forming two-dimensional networks parallel to (010), and the networks are linkedviaN—H...O and N—H...N hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional framework. Compound (II) is a two-dimensional cyanide-bridged coordination polymer. The asymmetric unit is composed of two chiral {[Cu(Lpn)2][Cr(CN)6]}−anions bridged by a chiral [Cu(Lpn)2]2+cation and five water molecules of crystallization. Both the CrIIIatoms and the central CuIIatom have distorted octahedral geometries. The coordination spheres of the outer CuIIatoms of the asymmetric unit can be considered to be pentacoordinate. In the crystal, these units are bridged by long semicoordination Cu—N(cyanide) bridging bonds forming a two-dimensional network, hence these CuIIatoms now have distorted octahedral geometries. The networks, which lie parallel to (10-1), are linkedviaO—H...O, O—H...N, N—H...O and N—H...N hydrogen bonds involving all five non-coordinating water molecules, the cyanide N atoms and the NH2groups of the Lpn ligands, forming a three-dimensional framework.
