The visualization of individual tree dynamic growth process provides a more intuitively visual display of individual tree growth process and effectively supports the forestry education and scientific researches. This paper presents an approach of combining the systematic analysis method and mathematical modeling techniques to realize the visual expression of the dynamic growth process of individual Mongolian pines in plantations. Quantitative analysis of morphological data and theoretical growth equation lay the foundation for establishing the dynamic growth model of individual Mongolian pines, which includes a primary branch diameter (BD) growth model, a primary branch length (BL) growth model, a height growth model, a diameter at breast height (DBH) growth model, a height of clear branches (HCB) growth model and a crown length (CL) growth model. Consolidating results of previous study--crown structure models and the development platform of VC++6.0 and OpenGL, we successfully established the virtual visualization system of individual tree growth for Mongolian pine plantation, and therefore implemented the nice integration of growth mechanism and morphological characteristics of individual Mongolian pines in plantation. The visual expression of individual tree growth provides a prerequisite for the visual forest management. In addition, it also offers a good reference for the visualization of other species.

The paper discusses the possibility of using computer technology for determining the spatial shape and stereometry of the burnishing tool contact zone with the machined material. The potential for use of the integrated measurement stand for the comprehensive analysis and virtual visualization of variations in the shape of burnished cylindrical surfaces based on stereometry measurement using a profilographometer (New Form Talysurf 2D/3D 120 by Taylor Hobson) and subsequent roundness measurements (Talyrond 365 by Taylor Hobson) has been presented.

Abstract. Capturing paintings with gigapixel resolution (resolution around 1000 megapixels or greater) is an innovative technique that is starting to be used by some important international museums for documenting, analysing, and disseminating their masterpieces. This line of research is extremely interesting, not only for art curators and scholars, but also for the general public. The results can be disseminated through online virtual tours, offering a detailed interactive visualization. These virtual tours allow the viewer to delve into the artwork, in such a way, that it is possible to zoom in and observe those details, which would be negligible to the naked eye in a real visit. Therefore, this kind of virtual visualization using gigapixel images becomes an essential tool to enhance this cultural heritage and to make it accessible to everyone. This article will describe an affordable methodology, based on SfM photogrammetry techniques, with which it will be possible to achieve a very high level of detail and chromatic fidelity, when documenting and disseminating pictorial artworks. As a practical example, there will be shown a case study of the altarpiece, from the Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia (Spain), entitled Virgen de las fiebres, painted around 1500 by Bernardino di Benedetto di Biagio, nicknamed ‘Il Pinturicchio' (Perugia, ca. 1454 – Siena, 1513).

Besides achieving an optimal scheduling generator, the operation safety of the generator itself needs to be focused on. The development of the virtual visualization of a generator capability curve simulation to visualize the operation condition of a generator is proposed in this paper. In this paper, a neural network is applied to redraw the original generator’s capability curve. The virtual visualization of a generator’s capability curve can simulate the generator’s operating condition considering the limitation of the constraints on the various elements of the generator. Furthermore, it is able to show the various possibilities that occur in the operation of a generator in reality, and it can even simulate special conditions which are based on various conditions.
