This paper aims at constructing the 10kV distribution network simulation platform on the principle of the laboratory experiments. This project is done by using the PSCAD/EMTDC software and can simulate all kinds of ground faults in the power grid. The platform can be divided into two parts: the basic framework and the user-defined module. The basic framework includes powers, transformers, lines, control and measurement units. Meanwhile, the user-defined module contains a ground arc module, ground fault modules and arc suppression coil(ASC) modules et al. Furthermore, this paper describes several examples of the single-line-to-ground faults in the resonant grounded network. In the end, the validity of the simulation platform is confirmed by the data comparison with the laboratory experiments.
