This paper presents a novel sinusoidal signal time delay tracking scheme based on radio interferometric for wireless sensor networks. We first design an interference signal composed of two sinusoidals with different frequencies in a transmitter. Then a sinusoidal signal time delay tracking algorithm based on DTFT is also presented. Compared with the source-separated radio interferometric time delay estimation (RITDE) technology, the proposed scheme can directly acquire time delay between two rather than among four receivers. Hence it can be employed directly to the traditional time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) localization algorithm. Simulation results confirm the efficiency and superior performance of the DTFT-based algorithm as compared to the existing filter-based approaches.

Abstract The work is devoted to the development of an algorithm for the optimal Radio Signal Time Delay Estimation Performance in passive location systems of stationary targets based on the TDOA method in two-dimensional space. A realistic model of the radio signal at the input of sensors (base station receivers) is considered, considering the random power value as a function of the distance to the source. The optimal estimate is based on the strategy of maximum posterior probability density. The calculation of the statistical characteristics of the obtained estimate of the radio signal delay time is carried out. The Bayesian Cramér - Rao lower bound (BCRLB) of the latency estimate is calculated. It is shown that the use of a priori statistical information on the path loss of a radio signal model can improve the accuracy of estimating the propagation delay time of a radio signal in TDOA/SSR-Based Source Localization Systems.

A new signal processing algorithm based on a Wavelet Transform is proposed for time delay estimation in acoustic elastography. The proposed estimator using correlation coefficient as a measure of the similarity of the two signal waveforms are reasonable. And we select the wavelet function most similar to the simulated ultrasonic signal as the mother wavelet. The practical simulation shows that the algorithm offers higher noise suppression capability and is able to implement ultrasonic signal time delay estimation.
