Tertiary storage devices provide huge storage capacity at low cost. Multimedia objects stored on the tertiary storage devices are accessed with high latency. Despite the high access latency, some tertiary storage devices are able to deliver data at high throughput. The time slicing method is designed to reduce the start-up latency in accessing multimedia objects from tertiary storage devices. The start-up latency is lowered by reducing the amount of data being migrated in stage one of the staging method being described in the last chapter. In order to support the time-slicing method, the tertiary storage devices should have the ability to deliver data at high throughput. The tertiary storage devices that cannot deliver data at sufficiently high throughput; the start-up latency cannot be reduced.

This paper discusses the basic principle of numerical control interpolation, including the straight line and arc (Agreeable circle or Negative circle) interpolation method of point by point comparison, Digital Differential Analyzer (DDA) and time-slicing method. By using Visual Basic 6.0 software, the implementation of the interpolation process and dynamic simulation results are displayed on the screen, and the implementation process of interpolation is observed directly, such as continuous interpolation, manual interpolation, step interpolation and interpolation of a closed graph.

<p>Slaughtering productive cow is commonly practiced, eventhough it is not in accordance with government program to increase livestock population in Indonesia. Ovarium from slaughtered cow contains genetic materials that have not utilized properly. The purpose of this paper is to review ovarian utilization collected from abattoir through <em>in vitro</em> fertilization technology. The best procedure of ovary preservation from abbatoir to the laboratory, oocyte collection techniques are required to produce qualified embryo. Transportation of ovary to laboratory requires proper temperature and time. Slicing method obtains high quantity and good quality of oocyte. The quality of oocytes collected from abattoir as good as those taken from live animal. Ovaries that previously as waste product can be used for <em>in vitro</em> production of embryos and livestock genetic material resources.</p>

Abstract We present a detailed analysis of QED corrections to $$ \overline{B}\to \overline{K}{\mathrm{\ell}}^{+}{\mathrm{\ell}}^{-} $$ B ¯ → K ¯ ℓ + ℓ − decays at the double-differential level. Cancellations of soft and collinear divergences are demonstrated analytically using the phase space slicing method. Whereas soft divergences are found to cancel at the differential level, the cancellation of the hard-collinear logs ln mℓ require, besides photon-inclusiveness, a specific choice of kinematic variables. In particular, hard-collinear logs in the lepton-pair invariant mass distribution (q2), are sizeable and need to be treated with care when comparing with experiment. Virtual and real amplitudes are evaluated using an effective mesonic Lagrangian. Crucially, we show that going beyond this approximation does not introduce any further infrared sensitive terms. All analytic computations are performed for generic charges and are therefore adaptable to semileptonic decays such as $$ \overline{B}\to D\mathrm{\ell}\overline{\nu } $$ B ¯ → D ℓ ν ¯ .
