Abstract The seismic damage state of building structure can be evaluated by observing the fundamental period change of structure. Firstly, the fundamental period calculation formula that adapts to the deformation pattern and distribution mode of horizontal seismic action for reinforced concrete frame structure is derived. Secondly, the seismic damage assessment standard of building structure considering period variation is established. Then, the seismic damage assessment method of building structure is constructed. Finally, the seismic damage example is used to verify the established evaluation method. The results show that the established research method has high accuracy and good engineering practicability.

Anomalistic architecture especially overhanging structure has become a trend of architectural development, Based on the characteristics of a large vertical eccentric, more prominent facade and strong reverse effect,overhanging structure is often serious super-norm and extremely detrimental to the seismic design[1], Now it has become an important part of seismic review. By the analysis and comparison on the coupling of the translational and torsional seismic response from ANSYS program[2]. The behavior of seismic catastrophe of cantilever building structure is studied under bi-directional earthquake action and the change law of cantilever member with the length is obtained, the suggestions on engineering design are put forward for future seismic design of such structures.

In this paper, we calculate and analyze a tall building project of seismic isolation design. It is a frame-shear wall structure, which has twelve stories on the ground. And then, we use the time history analysis method to calculate the isolation structure. It is found that isolation equipment can extend the period of the structure, reduce the story drift in frequency earthquake. And it also can control the response of the structure. In rare earthquake, the story drift can meet the demand of unclasped; the displacement and force of the equipment can satisfy the demand of the code for seismic design of building.

In indirect detecting, the measure value and the measured value are not the same or there is not a determined relationship between them, the measure physical value has to be surmised according to the measured value from statistics principals. Based on traditional and failure detecting method, the assessment methods of two different test conditions are deduced by the whole presumption method, theoretical formula of the confidence intervals, the method of probability and statistics. Moreover, the standard of qualification or unqualification is presented. The examples of engineering have shown that concrete strength is judged qualification with high probability. This method is used not only in test of building structure, especially in the evaluation of earthquake, but also popularizes to other domains, strength detecting for bridges, the pressure vessel, aircraft wing etc.
