Making use of hierarchical structure clearly of concept model of ontology , on the basis of Apriori algorithm and introducing cross linker method, an mining algorithm of process knowledge of association rule is proposed based on ontology. To verify the feasibility of the algorithm, partial correlation process knowledge is dicovered by this algorithm.

Abstract The main thrust of this research is in developing a knowledge-based system for the design of a mechanical engineering process. The study concentrates on developing methodologies for initial design and redesign in a qualitative format. The component selected is a die for plastic extrusion. A design algorithm using best first heuristic search and expert knowledge, both in procedural and declarative form, forms the core of the process. Initial design and redesign methodologies are presented that can enable efficient design of a component using expert knowledge. Some generality has been accomplished by the implementation of the techniques to dies of different cross sectional shapes. The software is written in Lisp within an object oriented software package using analysis modules written in C.

Abstract This paper describes a new, and unique, system for design and analysis of a family of parts with a specific focus on gas turbine nozzles. The system, built on the tenets of knowledge-based engineering (KBE) within an object-oriented framework, supports the notion of scalable products that can be resized through reparametrization. The KBE system for the parametric design of nozzles has been integrated with a Topology and Geometry Utility System (TAGUS) and geometry-based mesh generators (QUADTREE and EXTREME) to develop a turnkey system. The resulting system is shown to help reduce the design cycle time and to increase engineering productivity by representing design and manufacturing information as part of the complete product definition.

Abstract In this paper, we realize knowledge-based discrete event simulation model’s representation, reasoning and implementation by means of object-oriented(OO) frame language. Firstly, a classes library of simulation models is built by using the OO frame language. And then, behaviours of simulation models can be generated by inference engines reasoning about knowledge base. Lastly, activity cycle diagrams can be used to construct simulation network logic models by connecting the components classes of simulation models. This kind of knowledge-based simulation models can effectively solve the modeling problems of complex and ill-structure systems.
