This paper describes the design and implementation of Web based secure embedded system, including tiny secure Web server, embedded system-based CGI library, and utilities for security, such as CAPTCHA program and mail sending program. The entire system is designed in C by the author of this paper on Linux platform with GNU tool chain. A Web based secure embedded application demo system is also designed to show the architecture and running effect. On the premise of implementing essential functions, the scale of the system is designed as small as possible therefore it is suitable not only for embedded Linux development on Web based applications but also for embedded system course teaching in colleges and universities. By some further extensions, it can also be used on development of general Web based MIS.

Many automated health monitoring devices detect health abnormalities based on gleaned data. One of the effective approaches of monitoring a senior cardiac patient is the analysis of an Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal, as proven by various studies and applications. However, diagnosis results must be communicated to an expert. An intelligent and effective technology gaining wide popularity known as ‘internet of things' or ‘IoT' allows remote monitoring of the patient.

As the nation’s healthcare information infrastructure continues to evolve, new technologies promise to provide readily accessible health information that can help people address personal and community health concerns. In particular, wearable and implantable medical sensors and portable computing devices present many opportunities for providing timely health information to health providers, public health professionals, and consumers. Concerns about privacy and information quality, however, may impede the development and deployment of these technologies for remote health monitoring. Patients may fail to apply sensors correctly, device can be stolen or compromised (exposing the medical data therein to a malicious party), low-cost sensors controlled by a capable attacker might generate falsified data, and sensor data sent to the server can be captured in the air by an eavesdropper; there are many opportunities for sensitive health data to be lost, forged, or exposed. In this paper, we design a framework for secure remote health-monitoring systems; we build a realistic risk model for sensor-data quality and propose a new health-monitoring architecture that is secure despite the weaknesses of common personal devices. For evaluation, we plan to implement a proof of concept for secure health monitoring.

Transformer is an important component of an electrical distribution system. Hence it is important to monitor transformers for problems before faults occur. This system is about design and implementation of embedded system to monitor and record key parameters of a distribution transformer like load currents, voltage and temperature. It is installed at the distribution transformer site and the above parameters are recorded using the analog to digital converter (ADC) of the embedded system. The obtained parameters are processed and recorded in the system memory. If any abnormality or an emergency situation occurs the system takes immediate action to avoid it. This system will help the transformers to operate smoothly and identify problems before any failure. proposed system is low cost, easy to use capable of monitoring and displaying data using matlab[1,6].
