This paper analyses the system architecture of wooden package CAD/CAE system, and develops a wooden package CAD/CAE system using the secondary development tools SolidWorks API, combining with the Access database and Visual Basic language. This system can realize such functions like design, simulation analysis and process sheets generation of the wooden package. A case study shows the application process and specific functions of this system

The basic characteristic and comparison of the community-led local development tools: Local Agenda 21, used in public administration generally, and of the LEADER method, used within Local Action Groups (LAGs), is presented in this paper. It analyses their application in the Czech Republic. It discusses the potential synergistic effects of the application of these tools in two rural locations – the areas of two towns (Chrudim and Litomerice), which are leaders in the application of Local Agenda 21 in the Czech Republic. Both towns are members of LAGs – LAG Chrudimsko and LAG Ceske Stredohori. This combination of Local Agenda 21 and LEADER method are mutually supportive. The conclusion discusses recommendations for the improvement of community-led development.

The popularity of case-study methods in business education is constantly growing. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for publications concerning case writing and teaching, which helps business educators develop their own case studies that fit their local context. However the process of case development remains a kind of ‘black-box' process that requires a combination of diverse perspectives, including theory, writing, and teaching. The aim of this chapter is to review some of the most popular case-development tools and present an idea for a new comprehensive tool, i.e. ‘Case Writing Canvas'. This chapter presents this tool using an example of an actual case, and discusses its usefulness in the context of existing tools, as well as its advantages observed when used for business education in Central and Eastern Europe.

In this chapter we will demonstrate the usage of development tools provided by Oracle™ Developer. The tools help users create forms, queries, projects, and other applications needed for practical purposes. Notice that we use Oracle™ Developer 6.0 for this chapter. Newer versions will have more features. Before demonstrating the usage of Oracle™ Developer, we will present another case study whose database has to be developed first.

JavaFX™ 2.0 is the evolution of the Java programming language as a rich client platform. JavaFX™ platform provides multiple advantages to Java developers and companies that are part of the Java ecosystem, including the ability to leverage existing Java skills and development tools, as well as extending Swing applications, thus providing a migration path towards more modern and flexible User Interface (UI) technologies. This chapter first goes in depth on the JavaFX architecture and describes the benefits of using JavaFX to develop highly interactive Web applications; then, it presents four case studies on the development of JavaFX™-based Rich Internet Applications (RIAs) built on top of popular social networking services. For each case study, reviews of some similar real world implementations publicly available on the Internet are provided.

This study developed and implemented an improved mediator wrapper approach to addressing the challenges of integration of semantic heterogeneous databases. It employed Local as View (LaV) paradigm of database integration so as to reduce its cost as well as offer the local sources a degree of independence. The developed model was implemented as web service using JEE and some software development tools with a number of heterogeneous databases as a case study.
