During the last decades information technology (IT) management has changed. Starting from being a costly and rare resource, IT has evolved into a vital enabler for almost any kind of business today. This development demands for highly flexible management concepts allowing the business to actively control and govern IT performance. A widely used approach for multi-dimensional performance measurement in the context of IT management is the Balanced Scorecard (BSC). The authors aim at investigating the state of the art of IT BSC use through a comprehensive literature analysis. They also evaluate the adaptability of the different types of this concept to the most recent developments in IT management.

Quality assurance is the process of providing confidence that the stated or implied requirements for quality are met. In financial investment services, “quality” is defined as the perception of the investor about achieving satisfactory returns under acceptable and generally accepted risks within a planned time. Investor’s confidence in achieving quality stems from the quality assurance efforts and processes of the investment service provider. In this paper, different types of investment services, from a simple provision of investment information, to a full‐service portfolio management are discussed. Principles of quality assurance in investment services are provided. A realistic portfolio management case indicates that a modern quality management system (ISO 9000) can enhance quality assurance and thus the quality of investment services.

The purpose of this report includes the first to determine the feasibility of regional capital participation both economically and legally. The second is as a basis for formulating policies on the implementation of PDAM X Equity Participation. The methodology used in PDAM X's equity analysis is SWOT analysis, portfolio management, risk management and feasibility studies (organizational & human resources aspects, market and marketing aspects, production and operation aspects, audited data-based financial aspects). Financial aspects as a result of improved service and production are increased sales, cost efficiency and profit levels. From a financial aspect, the PDAM service portfolio must answer the problem, however it is very dependent on the funding for operating activities, and on the other hand, it must be able to meet the growing profitability. If there is additional investment funds, the direction is to be able to increase production capacity, service and ultimately be able to increase the volume of water services and be able to increase the profitability of PDAMs. Thus it can be concluded that the project can improve service to consumers and from better service, better water sales will be obtained and better profits.

This chapter explains the theory behind and the practice of strategic program planning and program management. The authors first describe two contrasting approaches to IT strategic planning, namely: the Cassidy Model and the Spewak Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) methodology. The authors then describe the principles and methods for enterprise architecture-driven strategic planning and the related IT project portfolio management principles. They conclude the chapter by explaining the basic principles of product/service portfolio strategic planning by describing a couple of recent approaches in the literature.
