Order picking is a crucial but labor- and cost-intensive activity in the retail logistics and e-commerce domain. Comprehensive changes are implemented in this field due to new technologies like AI and automation. Nevertheless, human worker’s activities will be required for quite some time in the future. This fosters the necessity of evaluating manual picker-to-part operations. We apply the non-parametric Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) to evaluate the efficiency of n = 23 order pickers processing 6109 batches with 865,410 stock keeping units (SKUs). We use distance per location, picks per location, as well as volume per SKU as inputs and picks per hour as output. As the convexity axiom of standard DEA models cannot be fully satisfied when using ratio measures with different denominators, we apply the Free Disposal Hull (FDH) approach that does not assume convexity. Validating the efficiency scores with the company’s efficiency assessment, operationalized by premium payments shows a 93% goodness=of-fit for the proposed model. The formulated non-parametric approach and its empirical application are promising ways forward in implementing empirical efficiency measurements for order picking operations within e-commerce operations.

Object of research: risk management processes of enterprises of the oil and fat industry in Ukraine. Investigated problem: to assess the efficiency of the implementation of the mechanism of innovative risk management for enterprises of the oil and fat industry in Ukraine Main scientific results: the paper proposes a scientific and methodological approach to quantifying the effectiveness of the implementation of the mechanism of innovative risk management (MIRM) of enterprises of the oil and fat industry in Ukraine, based on comparing the net present value before and after the MIRM implementation and consists of a number of successive interrelated stages, which include: comparative analysis and integrated assessment of unsystematic (financial, production, investment and other types) risks before and after the MIRM implementation at the enterprise; expert assessment of systematic risks that form the environment of the enterprise and can’t be controlled; determination of the total risk value as an arithmetic weighted average non-systematic and systematic component for each type of risk; determination of discount rates taking into account risk before and after the MIRM implementation at the enterprise using the CAPM model (capital assets pricing model) for calculating and comparing the net present value before and after the MIRM implementation at the enterprise (NPV and NPV', respectively). Efficiency assessment of the implementation of the mechanism of innovative risk management (MIRM) was carried out on the example of eleven processing enterprises of the fat and oil industry in Ukraine. The scope of practical use of research results: the risk management system of processing enterprises of the fat and oil industry in Ukraine, which should be the object of constant monitoring of the feasibility of implementation and assessment of the effectiveness of MIRM functioning by management and top management. Innovative technological product: a scientific and methodological approach to quantifying the effectiveness of the implementation of the mechanism of innovative risk management for enterprises of the oil and fat industry in Ukraine, based on comparing the net present value before and after the MIRM implementation (NPV and NPV’, respectively) using the CAPM model (capital assets pricing model) to determine the discount rates taking into account the risk before and after the MIRM implementation (d and d', respectively), which makes it possible to determine the expected amount of reduction in losses at the processing enterprises of the oil and fat industry of Ukraine from the implementation of a set of risk management measures and make informed management decisions on the appropriateness of their application. Scope of application of the innovative technological product: processing enterprises of the oil and fat industry in Ukraine.

This study measures performance and efficiency of the Listed Real Estate Companies (LRECs). Three types of Data envelopment analysis (DEA) approaches are employed, which are CCR-DEA, BCC-DEA and Super-Efficiency-DEA models. Based on these DEA approaches, we conduct an empirical analysis on the 94 LRECs in China stock markets according to the 2009 Annual Financial Statements. Registered Capital, Asset Value, Employee Number, and Operation Cost are adopted as the inputs factors, while the output factors are denoted by Revenue and Profit. In general, this empirical research delivers four outcomes: firstly, an integrated assessment system and a ranking of the LRECs are established, which provides useful information for investors who are seeking for indirect exposure in the Chinese real estate market. Secondly, the average Overall Efficiency (OE), Pure Technical Efficiency (PTE) and Scale Efficiency (SE) of the LRECs are 0.78, 0.84 and 0.92 respectively. Thirdly, 69% of the inefficient LRECs are classified as increasing returns to scale and could further increase operating efficiency by scale expansion. Fourthly, the employees slack is prevalent at 18.96% for the inefficient LRECs. Santrauka Straipsnyje įvertinamas nekilnojamojo turto kompanijų, kurių vertybiniai popieriai įtraukti į biržos sąrašus (angl. LRECs), veiklos efektyvumas ir rezultatyvumas. Tam taikomi trys duomenų apgaubties analizės (angl. DEA) metodai, o būtent CCR-DEA, BCC-DEA ir Super-Efficiency-DEA metodai. Pritaikius šiuos duomenų apgaubties analizės metodus ir remiantis 2009 m. metinių finansinių ataskaitų duomenimis, buvo atlikta Kinijos akcijų rinkos 94-ių nekilnojamojo turto kompanijų, kurių vertybiniai popieriai įtraukti į biržos sąrašus, empirinė analizė. Įstatinis kapitalas, nominali aktyvų vertė, darbuotojų skaičius ir eksploatacinės išlaidos laikomi įeigos veiksniais, o išeigos veiksniais imamos pajamos ir pelnas. Šiuo empiriniu tyrimu galima pasiekti keturių rezultatų: pirmiausia, sudaryta integruoto vertinimo sistema ir nustatomi nekilnojamojo turto kompanijų, kurių vertybiniai popieriai įtraukti į biržos sąrašus, reitingai. Reitingų teikiama informacija naudinga investuotojams, siekiantiems netiesioginio dalyvavimo Kinijos nekilnojamojo turto rinkoje. antra, nekilnojamojo turto kompanijų, kurių vertybiniai popieriai įtraukti į biržos sąrašus, vidutiniai dydžiai: bendras efektyvumas (angl. OE), grynasis techninis efektyvumas (angl. PTE) ir masto efektyvumas (angl. SE), atitinkamai sudaro 0,78, 0,84 ir 0,92. Trečia, 69 proc. neefektyvių nekilnojamojo turto kompanijų, kurių vertybiniai popieriai įtraukti į biržos sąrašus, priskirtos prie augančio pelno kompanijų, kurios gali kelti veiklos efektyvumą plėsdamos savo veiklą. Ketvirta, 18,96 proc. neefektyvių nekilnojamojo turto kompanių, kurių vertybiniai popieriai įtraukti į biržos sąrašus, būdinga darbuotojų neveiksnumas.

Este documento propone una metodología para formular un Modelo de Análisis Envolvente de Datos (DEA) para evaluar la eficiencia de carreras de Ingeniería Industrial en el Perú con enfoque de desarrollo sostenible. Este estudio comprende dos etapas, la primera corresponde a la identificación de variables de entradas y de salidas, a partir de otros estudios DEA aplicados en la educación superior, revisión de criterios utilizados en ranking de universidades, SUNEDU y ABET. En una segunda etapa, se propone tres modelos cuya aplicación se restringe a la disponibilidad de datos e información..
