This paper introduces the working principle of the research of simulation in the main circuit of Static Var Generator based on Cascade H-Bride and takes the three-phase Static Var Generator based on cascade H-Bride with rated capacity 10kVar,rated voltage 380V for example to proceed the MATLAB simulation. The research shows that the more amount of cascade H-Bride, the more number of output voltage levels in the main circuit of Static Var Generator, the smaller value of voltage waveform distortion factor, and the less harmonic content be inject in electric network, which improves power index.

Three-phase Fixed Capacitor Thyristor Controlled Reactor is widely used for reactive power compensation in power systems because of reduced cost and high reliability.  The problem with FC-TCR is that to generate current harmonics when it is partially conducting. When this harmonic current is interacted with system impedance, voltage waveform will distorted. This harmonic pollution is undesirable in power systems. Therefore, it is important to know the harmonic behaviour of three-phase FC-TCR before they can be used in a power system network. This paper presents the harmonic analysis of three-phase FC-TCR operating under balanced and unbalanced conditions. This analysis is useful to design the harmonic filter to reduce the harmonic pollution in power systems.The proposed work is implemented in MATLAB environment.

Abstract The present paper covers a review of documents that specify measurement methods of voltage waveform distortion. It also presents measurement stages of waveform components that are uncommon in the classic fundamentals of electrotechnics and signal theory, including the creation process of groups and subgroups of harmonics and interharmonics. Moreover, the paper discusses selected distortion factors of periodic waveforms and presents analyses that compare the values of these distortion indices. The measurements were carried out in the cycle per cycle mode and the measurement methodology that was used complies with the IEC 61000-4-7 norm. The studies showed significant discrepancies between the values of analyzed parameters.
