The effect of polymer injection on the turbulence characteristics of a fully developed turbulent water channel flow was studied. The main focus of this study was to assess the influence of the polymer solution injection concentration and consequent mixing. This study was conducted by measuring the turbulence characteristics of two fully developed turbulent channel flows for a Reynolds number of 5×104, with different injection concentrations of the same polymer solution but with the same homogeneous concentration at the test section. These measurements were complemented by visualizations of the flow, which revealed the presence of supra-molecular polymer structures. The development of such structures seems to enhance the drag reducing abilities of the polymer solution.

The relation between Eulerian structure function’s scaling exponents and Lagrangian ones in turbulent channel flows is explored both theoretically and numerically. A nonlinear parametric transformation between Eulerian structure function’s scaling exponents and Lagrangian ones is derived, following Landau and Novikov’s frame work. This relation is then compared to some known experimental and numerical results, but mainly to our DNS (direct numerical simulation) results of a fully developed channel flow with Reτ = 100. The scaling exponents are evaluated in terms of the ESS (extended self-similarity) method, since the Reynolds number is too low to make the standard scaling laws applicable. The agreement between theory and simulation is satisfactory

The paper presents an experimental study on three-dimensional turbulence characteristics of curved channel flow by Doppler meter .Measured the time-average velocity and fluctuating intensity and so on. Analysised turbulence characteristics of curved channel flow by the experimental data, and also compared the flow distribution of vertical、horizontal fluctuating intensity, get the conclusion.
