ABSTRACT Streptococcus suis is an important swine pathogen that can also cause severe diseases in humans. Herein, we describe the genome sequence of Streptococcus suis serotype 2 virulent strain SS2-1, which was isolated from a diseased dead pig amid the 1998 Streptococcus suis outbreak in Jiangsu Province in China.

ABSTRACT Streptococcus suis is a swine pathogen that causes severe economic damage to the porcine industry. It occasionally evokes zoonotic infection in humans. Here, we report a draft genome sequence of a S. suis serotype 5 strain isolated from a bacteremia patient that was reported by Taniyama et al. (D. Taniyama, M. Sakurai, T. Sakai, T. Kikuchi, and T. Takahashi, IDCases 6:36–38, 2016, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.idcr.2016.09.011 ).

The zoonotic pathogen Streptococcus suis can cause septicemia and meningitis in humans. We report five complete genomes of Streptococcus suis serotype 2 and serotype 9, covering the complete phylogeny of serotype 9 Dutch porcine isolates and zoonotic isolates. The isolates include the model strain S10 and the Dutch emerging zoonotic lineage.

ABSTRACT Agrobacterium tumefaciens 1D1609 is a highly virulent strain isolated from a crown gall tumor of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). Compared to other well-characterized A. tumefaciens strains, such as C58 and Ach5, 1D1609 has a distinctive host range. Here, we report its complete genome sequence to facilitate future studies.

Pseudomonas plecoglossicida is a Gram-negative fish pathogen responsible for visceral granular disease in large yellow croaker, Larimichthys crocea. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a verified virulent strain, XSDHY-P, that was isolated from spleen tissue of a diseased large yellow croaker.

Malassezia restricta, one of the predominant basidiomycetous yeasts present on human skin, is involved in scalp disorders. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of the lipophilic Malassezia restricta CBS 7877 strain, which will facilitate the study of the mechanisms underlying its commensal and pathogenic roles within the skin microbiome.

The hydrogen-utilizing strain Cupriavidus necator H16 (DSM 428) was sequenced using a combination of PacBio and Illumina sequencing. Annotation of this strain reveals 6,543 protein-coding genes, 263 pseudogenes, 64 tRNA genes, and 15 rRNA genes.
