The complete genome sequence (10,326 nucleotides) of a papaya ringspot virus isolate infecting genetically modified papaya in Hainan Island of China was determined through reverse transcription (RT)-PCR. The virus shares 92% nucleotide sequence identity with the isolate that is unable to infect PRSV-resistant transgenic papaya.

A rabies virus was detected in a common vampire bat ( Desmodus rotundus ) in French Guiana. Its genomic sequence was obtained and found to be closely related to other hematophagous bat-related viruses that widely circulate in the northern Amazon region. This virus is named AT6.

We report here the complete genome sequence of HeN1505, a field isolate of classical swine fever virus belonging to the new subgenotype 2.1d. HeN1505 distinguishes itself from other classical swine fever virus (CSFVs) by 1 amino acid substitution in position 159 (threonine by isoleucine), which led to the loss of one N -glycosylation site in the N pro protein.

The complete genome sequence of beak and feather disease virus (BFDV) from a fledgling red-capped parrot ( Purpureicephalus spurius ) was assembled and characterized. The genome consists of 1,995 nucleotides and encodes two major proteins in opposing directions. This is the first evidence of BFDV infectivity and a complete genome sequence for this novel host.

ABSTRACT We report here the complete genome sequence of strain H9N2, an avian influenza virus (AIV) isolated from dove in Guangxi, China. Phylogenetic analysis showed that it was a novel reassortant AIV derived from chicken, duck, and wild bird. This finding provides useful information for understanding the H9N2 subtype of AIV circulating in southern China.
