Bacillus subtilis ∆6 is a genome-reduced strain that was cured from six prophages and AT-rich islands. This strain is of great interest for biotechnological applications. Here, we announce the full-genome sequence of this strain. Interestingly, the conjugative element ICE Bs 1 has most likely undergone self-excision in B. subtilis ∆6.

ABSTRACT Here, we present the complete genome sequence of the Bacillus subtilis strain SP1. This strain is a descendant of the laboratory strain 168. The strain is suitable for biotechnological applications because the prototrophy for tryptophan has been restored. Due to laboratory cultivation, the strain has acquired 24 additional sequence variations.

Bacillus subtilis WB800N is a genetically engineered variant of B. subtilis 168, such that all extracellular proteases are disrupted, which enables WB800N to be widely used for the expression of secretory proteins. Here, we report the 4.2-Mb complete genome sequence of WB800N and present all of the disrupted gene structure.

ABSTRACT We report here the complete genome sequence of a GII.6 norovirus strain detected in a clinical fecal specimen from the United States. The virus genome has a length of 7,547 bp and a GC content of 50.1%. Complete norovirus genotyping of the full-genome sequence identified the virus genotype as GII.P6_GII.6.

Using a metagenomics approach, we were able to determine for the first time the full-genome sequence of a psittacine adenovirus 1 isolate that was recovered from the liver of a dead Senegal parrot (Poicephalus senegalus) in Italy. The results of the phylogenetic investigations revealed the existence of high genetic diversity among adenoviruses circulating in psittacine birds.

ABSTRACT Photobacterium leiognathi is a bioluminescent symbiont of fish of the Leiognathidae family. Here, we present the full-genome sequence of P. leiognathi strain JS01, a strain isolated from a nonluminescent Loligo sp. squid of Singaporean origin. No finished genome sequence of this species is currently publicly available.

We sequenced the complete genome of the type strain ofAeromonas schubertii, ATCC 43700. The full genome sequence ofA. schubertiiATCC 43700 is 4,356,858 bp, which encodes 3,842 proteins and contains 110 predicted RNA genes.

We generated the near-full genome sequence of Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) from a collected nasal sample of dromedary camel in Egypt. The newly characterized Egyptian strain has high similarity to the previously characterized Egyptian virus and both of viruses fell into a cluster distinct from other MERS-CoVs.
