Viral metagenomics analysis of samples from bats has been carried out as part of bat rabies surveillance in Croatia. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of a novel circo-like virus isolated from a sample of Miniopterus schreibersii bat guano determined by Illumina next-generation sequencing.

ABSTRACT A novel human papillomavirus (HPV ICB1) was fully characterized from a skin swab by using a sensitive degenerate PCR protocol combined with next-generation sequencing. The L1 open reading frame of HPV ICB1 shares 70.54% nucleotide homology with its closest relative, HPV164, and thus constitutes a novel human gammapapillomavirus.

ABSTRACT A new recombinant norovirus, GII.P16-GII.2, emerged in the winter of 2016-2017. Here, we report the complete genome of this strain (Hu/GII/HK/2016/GII.P16-GII.2/CUHK-NS-1082), which was collected from a patient hospitalized with gastroenteritis in September 2016 in Hong Kong, China, and sequenced using next-generation sequencing. This genome had a 95.2% nucleotide identity to the closest sequence in GenBank.

We report here the first complete genome sequence of Ornithogalum mosaic virus (OrMV) isolated from Taean, South Korea, in 2011, which was obtained by next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing. The sequence information provided here may serve as a potential reference for other OrMV isolates.

ABSTRACT We present here the first complete genome sequence of Cowpea aphid-borne mosaic virus (CABMV) isolated from cowpea in Uganda and compare it with five CABMV complete genome sequences from Brazil (2), India (2), and Zimbabwe (1). It most resembled the genomes of two Brazilian isolates (MG-Avr and BR1) and one Indian isolate (RR3).

Here, we report the coding-complete genome sequence of an avian metapneumovirus from a monk parakeet (Myiopsitta monachus), identified by metagenomic next-generation sequencing during an investigation into a disease outbreak in a captive parrot breeding facility. Based on divergence from known strains, this sequence represents a new subgroup of avian metapneumovirus.

ABSTRACT The model oleaginous alga Nannochloropsis gaditana was completely sequenced using a combination of optical mapping and next-generation sequencing technologies to generate one of the most complete eukaryotic genomes published to date. The assembled genome is 30.7 Mb long.
