ABSTRACT Here, we announce the draft genome sequence of Pseudomonas sp. strain AN3A02, isolated from the rhizosphere of one of the only two species of vascular plants existing in the Antarctic continent, Deschampsia antarctica Desv. This isolate, which inhibited the mycelial growth of Botrytis cinerea in dual culture, has a genome sequence of 6,778,644 bp, with a G+C content of 60.4%. These draft genome sequence data provide insight into the genetics underpinning the antifungal activity of this strain.

We report the draft genome sequence of a novel Rhodospirillales bacterium strain, TMPK1, isolated from a micropore-filtered soil suspension. This strain has a genome of 4,249,070 bp, comprising 4,151 protein-coding sequences. The genome sequence data further suggest that strain TMPK1 is an alphaproteobacterium capable of carotenoid production.

Xanthobacter tagetidis is a thiophene-degrading bacterium associated with root balls of the plant genus Tagetes, which includes marigolds. It is a Gram-negative facultatively autotrophic bacterium with pleomorphic morphology exhibiting bent and branching rods. From strain TagT2CT (= ATCC 700314T), we report a genome assembly of 4,945,221 bp and a 69.5% G+C content.

ABSTRACT Staphylococcus succinus subsp. succinus type strain DSM 14617 was isolated from plant and soil inclusions within 25- to 35-million-year-old Dominican amber. The complete genome sequence of strain DSM 14617T includes a genome of 2.88 Mb (32.94% G+C content) without any plasmids.

ABSTRACT We grew a soil enrichment culture to identify organisms that anaerobically oxidize phenazine-1-carboxylic acid. A strain of Citrobacter portucalensis was isolated from this enrichment and sequenced by both Illumina and PacBio technologies. It has a genome with a length of 5.3 Mb, a G+C content of 51.8%, and at least one plasmid.
