Strains of the genera Saccharopolyspora and Streptomyces were isolated from Protopolybia sp. and Metapolybia sp. social wasps in Costa Rica. Draft genome sequences were obtained for six isolates, ranging from 6.4 Mb to 9.1 Mb long and having GC contents of 71 to 73%.

The genomes of predominant Lactobacillus helveticus, Lactobacillus fermentum, and Lactobacillus delbrueckii strains from fermented nono were sequenced. The genome sizes were 2.1, 1.9, and 1.7 Mbp, respectively, and the GC contents were 36.5%, 51.5%, and 49.7%, respectively. Annotation revealed some genes for bacteriocin and for the potential production of aroma compounds.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequences of Lactobacillus delbrueckii subsp. bulgaricus strains CBC-LB69 and CBC-LB8. The strains were isolated from naturally processed, homemade dairy foods in Bulgaria. The two genome assemblies each resulted in 39 contigs with total lengths of 1,752,493 and 1,759,908 bp and GC contents of 49.80% and 49.90%, respectively.

ABSTRACT Paenibacillus species are important spoilage organisms in the dairy industry. The genomes of five Paenibacillus species which were isolated from dairy products in Canada were sequenced using the Illumina MiSeq platform. Draft genomes ranging from 5.1 to 7.1 Mb with GC contents of 49 to 53% were generated.

Vibrio atypicus is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with the digestive tract of penaeid shrimp. Here, we present the draft genome sequences of two V. atypicus strains, DSM 25292T and TUMSAT1. Both assemblies were approximately 4.8 Mbp long, with GC contents of around 44%.

ABSTRACT MiSeq Illumina shotgun sequencing technology was used to sequence two Lactobacillus casei strains, designated strains GCRL 163 and MJA 12. The estimated genome sizes for GCRL 163 and MJA 12 were 2.9 Mb and 3.1 Mb, with 46.35% and 46.31% GC contents, respectively.

ABSTRACT Bifidobacterium sp. strains TRE 1, TRE D, TRE H, and TRI 7 were isolated from two tamarins housed in Parco Natura Viva, Garda Zoological Park S.r.l. (Bussolengo, Verona, Italy). These strains belong to four putative novel species of the genus Bifidobacterium . The genome sizes were 2.7 Mb for TRE 1, 2.7 Mb for TRE D, 2.4 Mb for TRE H, and 2.7 Mb for TRI 7. The average GC contents were 63.18% for TRE 1, 58.27% for TRE D, 57.11% for TRE H, and 63.79% for TRI 7.

ABSTRACT We present the draft genome sequences of Clostridium gasigenes strains CM001 and CM004. The genomes are 4,147,089 and 4,191,074 bp with GC contents of 28.7% and 28.8%, respectively. Although both strains belong to the same species, whole-genome sequence-based analyses reveal that the strains are phylogenetically distinct.

We report the draft genome sequences of Leptolyngbya sp. strain 7M and Leptolyngbya sp. strain 15MV, isolated from Miravalles Thermal Spring, Costa Rica. The thermophilic cyanobacteria exhibit unique diversity features that provide insight into the adaptation and evolution of phototrophic microorganisms in geothermal habitats.

ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequences of two related Streptomyces sp. strains, JV180 and SP18CM02. Despite their isolation from soils in Connecticut and Missouri (USA), respectively, they are strikingly similar in gene content. Both belong to the Streptomyces griseus clade and harbor several secondary metabolite biosynthetic gene clusters.
