Abstract The development of beef cattle needs to be supported by regional potential which includes natural resources and human resources. Sorong Regency is one of the areas for beef cattle development in West Papua Province. This research was conducted for three months, from February to April 2021. The study was conducted in four districts that have a high population of beef cattle in Sorong Regency, West Papua Province. namely Salawati District, Segun District, Mayamuk District, and Moisegen. This research was conducted using a survey method with interview techniques and field observations. Breeding experience, education, age have a relationship with the number of livestock kept. The result showed that farmers were in the productive age and had low education. The traditional rearing with extensive system was a common management practice with less than six cows per household.   The experience of rearing cattle, age and education had a correlation with number of cows per household (r<0.05). However, there was not very strong relationship with the variable number of beef cattle. The land area factor does not affect the number of livestock and education was not influence management system.  It concluded that livestock activity purposed was not up to business level but it was only for saving purposes.  Keywords: Beef cattle; Development; Potential; Production; Sorong   Abstrak Pengembangan ternak potong perlu didukung oleh potensi wilayah yang mencakup sumberdaya alam dan sumberdaya manusia. Kabupaten Sorong merupakan salah satu wilayah pengembangan ternak potong di Provinsi Papua Barat. Penelitian dilakukan di empat distrik yang memiliki populasi ternak sapi potong yang cukup tinggi di Kabupaten Sorong Provinsi Papua Barat. yaitu Distrik Salawati, Distrik Segun, Distrik Mayamuk, dan Moisegen, pada bulan Februari sampai dengan April 2021. Penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan metode survei dengan teknik wawancara dan observasi lapangan. Kriteria responden pada penelitian ini adalah memiliki sapi > 3 ekor dan memiliki pengalaman beternak lebih dari 3 tahun.  Penentuan jumlah sampel menggunakan rumus Slovin.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik peternak antara lain: berada pada usia produktif, memiliki pendidikan yang cukup rendah, pengalaman beternak yang cukup lama dan tingkat kepemilikan ternak yang rendah. Sistem pemeliharaan ternak bersifat tradisional dengan pemberian pakan dan pengobatan seminimal mungkin. Pengalaman beternak, pendidikan, umur memiliki hubungan dengan jumlah ternak yang dipelihara. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan nilai koefiesien korelasi r= (r <0.05). Pengalaman beternak dan pendidikan memiliki keeratan hubungan yang tidak terlalu kuat terhadap variabel jumlah ternak sapi potong. Faktor luas lahan tidak mempengaruhi jumlah ternak yang dipelihara. Hal ini dikarenakan sistem pemeliharaan yang dilakukan peternak dominan dengan sistem umbar terbatas dan pemberian pakan ditambah dari sumber lain seperti pinggir jalan dan sumber lain. Faktor luas lahan tidak mempengaruhi jumlah ternak yang dipelihara. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini  dapat disimpulkan bahwa peternak di sentra peternakan sapi Kabupaten Sorong masih bersifat tradisional yang bertujuan untuk tabungan keluarga dan secara umum belum berorientasi bisnis. Abstract The European Union’s embargo on Indonesian crude palm oil (CPO) has resulted in excess of domestic palm oil reserves. The embargo has resulted in a build-up of domestic CPO due to the fact that the majority of Indonesia’s CPO production is exported overseas. The CPO price has dropped in recent months as a result of CPO overstock. On the other hand, as a by-product of rice production, Indonesia produces millions of tons of rice bran. The bran is treated more as waste than a resource for raw material to produce valuable products, such as bran oil. The need for lubricants in Indonesia is expected to rise as the number of cars and industries grows. As a result, some lubricant requirements must be met through importation because domestic manufacturing is insufficient. Palm oil and bran oil are both excellent candidates for conversion into biolubricants. This paper looks at the possibility of biolubricant production in Indonesia using alternate raw materials rather than petroleum-based sources. The paper begins by detailing the country’s lubricant demand, then moves on to the probable availability of biolubricant raw materials in Indonesia, and finally to the biolubricant process production method.

Background: Cutaneous leishmaniasis is caused by Leishmania spp., and its treatment is limited. The β-carbolines have shown activity against kinetoplastids. Aim: To evaluate the activity and effects of the β-carbolines, N-{2-[(4,6-bis(isopropylamino)-1,3,5-triazin-2-yl)amino]ethyl}-1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-β-carboline-3-carboxamide (RCC) and N-benzyl-1-(4-methoxy)phenyl-9H-beta-carboline-3-carboxamide (C5), against L. amazonensis intracellular amastigotes and to suggest their mechanism of action. Methods: We analyzed the activity and cytotoxicity of β-carbolines and the morphological alterations by electron microscopy. Mitochondrial membrane potential, production nitric oxide, reactive oxygen species, lipidic bodies, autophagic vacuoles and ATP were also evaluated. Results & conclusion: The results showed that RCC and C5 are active against intracellular amastigotes and were able to induce oxidative stress and ultrastructural alterations such as accumulation of lipid bodies and autophagic vacuoles, leading to parasite death.

This means that information is being transformed into a certain type of production resource and integrated with the business strategy. Based on the critical analysis of theoretical material, as well as the use of practical developments, the role of creating a quality information architecture in a competitive enterprise is determined. The method of developing the information architecture of the enterprise is presented. The variant of the decision of a problem of the enterprise concerning the correctness of the information on information and technological support of business and strategies of its further development in the form of development and construction of the architecture of the information of the enterprise which provides interrelation of strategic purposes and tasks of the enterprise, business processes and technologies is offered.

ABSTRACT Biomethane can readily replace fossil fuels including natural gas, which has similar physical and chemical properties. In Brazil, municipal solid waste is predominantly disposed of in landfills. Landfill gas is mostly employed for electricity generation, but still at low levels when compared to the existing potential. Production of biomethane from landfill gas may be an alternative to exploit the existing potential, but Brazil’s pipeline network is rather limited and concentrated along the country’s coast. In this context, the research sought to identify the locational viability of using landfill gas to produce biomethane and injecting it into pipelines, considering the available potential and its proximity to Brazil’s existing pipeline network. The QGis software was used to integrate the information. Territorial arrangements with a biomethane production capacity of more than 15,000 Nm3 day−1 and located up to 50 km from the pipeline network were considered feasible. The research estimated a potential production equivalent to 3,407,027 Nm3 day−1 of biomethane from landfills in Brazil. This potential corresponds to 6% of country’s natural gas consumption in 2019 and is almost 32 times greater than current production of biomethane from all substrates used with this purpose in that year. The results indicate the suitability of using geographic information systems to identify regions that can benefit from the production of biomethane from landfill gas using the existing natural gas pipelines as an alternative to the electricity generation and provides relevant subsidies to the formulation of more efficient public policies in both the sanitation and energy sectors.

Red unions are one type of plant that is widely used as a  spice ini cooking and cannot be replaced with other types of plants so it is needed every time.   The research objective was to obtain one type of organic solution that produced the highest production of shallots and to calculate the potential production of each given organic  solution.  The research was carried out at the Kebun Percontohan Balai Penyuluhan Pertanian Bulango Timur in January-April 2020.  The research was conducted in the form of Randomized Bloc design consisting of 8 treatments including control namely without the use of organic solutions, POC, MOL Rice, MOL Banana, ZPT red union, ZPT Tauge, PGPR Root Bamboo and PGPR Elephan Grass Root.  Repeat 3 times with a plot size 1 m x 1 m.  The parameters observed were fresh weight and dry weight of red union bulbs.  The results showed that the highest fresh weight was obtained from the treatment of ZPT red union  14,22 ton haˉ¹) and MOL banana (14,06 ton haˉ¹).  The highest dry weight of bulbs resulted from the MOL treatment of banana (9,93 ton haˉ¹) and ZPT red union (9,87 ton haˉ¹).

Abstract Red ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc. var. rubrum) is a medicinal plant that belongs to the flowering family (Zingiberaceae). Indonesian potential production of red ginger was about 22 tons Ha−1 within export volume up to 3,000 tons in 2018. This value is completely different from production yields, which decreased every year. Fertilization is one of the cultivation techniques that can increase production. This study aimed to determine the type of organic fertilizer that effectively increases the growth and yield of red ginger. The research was conducted in Jatiyoso, Karanganyar from March to August 2020 with one-factor RCBD and five treatments, it is T0 (Control), T1 (Marketed Manure), T2 (Cow Manure), T3 (Goat Manure), and T4 (Chicken Manure). Plants applied with goat manure (T3) resulted in the highest growth and yield. The growth of red ginger in terms of plant height (72.77 cm), number of tillers (14.93), and weight of fresh straw (30.89 g) tended to be higher in plants applied with goat manure. The yield of fresh rhizome weight and stored rhizome weight applied with goat manure, which is 1033.8 g and 916.8 g, was the highest value above all treatments.

In this work, the radioisotope 64Cu was obtained from copper (II) chloride dihydrate in a nuclear research reactor by neutron capture, (63Cu(n,γ)64Cu), and incorporated into boron nitride nanotubes (BNNTs) using a solvothermal process. The produced 64Cu-BNNTs were analyzed by TEM, MEV, FTIR, XDR, XPS and gamma spectrometry, with which it was possible to observe the formation of64Cu nanoparticles, with sizes of up to 16 nm, distributed through nanotubes. The synthesized of 64Cu nanostructures showed a pure photoemission peak of 511 keV, which is characteristic of gamma radiation. This type of emission is desirable for Photon Emission Tomography (PET scan) image acquisition, as well as its use in several cancer treatments. Thus, 64Cu-BNNTs present an excellent alternative as theranostic nanomaterials that can be used in diagnosis and therapy by different techniques used in nuclear medicine.

Forecasting methods are advantageous tools to predict the future, especially for agricultural commodities production. This study aims to compare the forecasting method between Fourier Regression, Multilayer Perceptrons Neural Networks (MPNN), and introducing a new forecasting method hybrid Fourier Regression – Multilayer Perceptrons Neural Networks Model proposed by the author. These methods are applied to forecast the production of big chili commodities since it is one of the essential vegetable commodities with a high household and industrial consumption in Indonesia. The big chili production data used is monthly from January 2010 to June 2017 (in quintal units) sourced from Statistics Indonesia. The results show hybrid Fourier Regression – Multilayer Perceptrons Neural Networks Model is more accurate to forecast big chili production than Fourier Regression and Multilayer Perceptrons (MPNN). The MAPE produced by Fourier Regression-MPNN is the lowest compared to the other methods, which is 4.45. In summary, the use of the hybrid Fourier Regression-MPNN method in forecasting big chili production can help the government to find out the potential production of big chili in the next few quarters. Furthermore, the results are useful for considering some government policies about big chili needs such as making a decision to export or import big chili commodities.
