In this work, we systematically study the two-proton ([Formula: see text]) radioactivity half-lives of nuclei close to the proton drip line within a modified Gamow-like model. Using this model, the calculated [Formula: see text] radioactivity half-lives can well reproduce the experimental data. Moreover, we blackuse this model to predict the [Formula: see text] radioactivity half-lives of 22 candidates blackwhose [Formula: see text] radioactivity is energetically allowed or observed but not yet quantized in evaluated nuclear properties table NUBASE2016. blackThe predicted results are in good agreement with the ones obtained by using Gamow-like model, effective liquid drop model (ELDM), generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) as well as a four-parameter formula.

Abstract In the present work, considering the preformation probability of the emitted two protons in the parent nucleus, we extend the Coulomb and proximity potential model (CPPM) to systematically study two-proton (2p) radioactivity half-lives of the nuclei close to proton drip line, while the proximity potential is chosen as Prox.81 proposed by Blocki et al. in 1981. Furthermore, we apply this model to predict the half-lives of possible 2p radioactive candidates whose 2p radioactivity is energetically allowed or observed but not yet quantified in the evaluated nuclear properties table NUBASE2016. The predicted results are in good agreement with those from other theoretical models and empirical formulas, namely the effective liquid drop model (ELDM), generalized liquid drop model (GLDM), Gamow-like model, Sreeja formula and Liu formula.

Proton radioactivity of neutron-deficient nuclei with atomic numbers [Formula: see text]–91 and mass number 104–211 is investigated using the analytical super-asymmetric fission (ASAF) model — a model used to study [Formula: see text]-decay and cluster radioactivity since 1984. The experimental [Formula: see text] values are compared with calculated ones based on WS4 (Y. Z. Wang et al., 2014–2015), and in few cases KTUY05 (H. Koura et al., 2005) mass models. Proton drip-line and neutron drip-line are determined using the WS4 mass model. We compare the calculated results with experimental half-lives, showing good agreement.

The alpha decay half-lives of actinides within modified generalized liquid drop model (MGLDM) are investigated by the Wentzel–Kramers–Brillouin (WKB) barrier penetration probability. The potential barrier was studied taking in to account of nuclear proximity, coulomb interaction and centrifugal potential with the inclusion of angular momentum. This work predicts the alpha decay half-lives of unknown actinide nuclei such as [Formula: see text]Am, [Formula: see text]Cm, [Formula: see text]Bk, [Formula: see text]Es and [Formula: see text]No. The calculated alpha decay half-lives reproduce accurately the experimental data. The predictions provided for the alpha decay half-lives within the MGLDM may be helpful for identifying the new isotopes in this field.

Systematic calculations on [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives of Bi isotopes are performed by using the generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) and several sets of Royer’s analytic formulas. In calculations, the [Formula: see text] transitions include the ones of (i) ground state (g.s.) to g.s., (ii) g.s. to isomeric state (i.s.), (iii) i.s. to g.s., (iv) i.s. to i.s. According to the comparison between the calculated half-lives and the experimental data, it is found that the experimental half-lives are reproduced well by the GLDM with the cluster-like mode. This indicates that the nuclear structure details play important roles in the [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives. In addition, it is found that the experimental half-lives are not reproduced well by these analytic formulas because the parameters are obtained by fitting the experimental half-lives of g.s. to g.s. transitions. To give better predictions on [Formula: see text]-decay half-lives, the parameters in these formulas should be refitted by including the experimental [Formula: see text]-transition of (ii)–(iv) mentioned above.

In the framework of the generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) and improved Royer's formula, we investigate the branching ratios and half-lives of α-decay to the members of the ground-state rotational bands of heavy even–even Fm and No isotopes. The calculated results are in good agreement with the available experimental data and some useful predictions are provided for future experiments.

We have studied systematically the alpha decay and cluster radioactivity half-life of heavy [Formula: see text]Mendelevium ([Formula: see text]) isotopes. The alpha decays from Md isotopes have been studied within the framework of Coulomb and proximity potential model using 14 different versions of nuclear potentials. Also, we have studied the half-lives of alpha decay of Md nuclei within the nuclear potentials generalized liquid drop model (GLDM) and also within GLDM with modified different nuclear potentials, namely proximity potential 2010, 1977, 1988, 2000 and 2002. Moreover, the half-lives of the [Formula: see text]-decay and cluster radioactivity calculated using the Universal formula for cluster decay (UNIV) of Poenaru et al., the Universal decay law (UDL) of Qi et al. and the Unified formula of half-lives for both the [Formula: see text]-decay and cluster radioactivity (UFADCR) of Ni et al. and found to be in good agreement. Our results have been compared with experimental data and demonstrate the acceptability of the approach. Among the different proximity potentials, GLDM with proximity 1977 version (GLDM[Formula: see text][Formula: see text][Formula: see text]P77) ([Formula: see text]) provides the best description for alpha decay studies with low deviation.
