The properties of X(3872) are analyzed starting from a correlation function written in terms of the quark and gluon degrees of freedom. It is shown that in the infinite charm quark mass limit, X(3872) meson should have three other degenerate meson partners. The possible isospin structure of X(3872) is also analyzed and it is concluded that although the observed isospin violation in the decays of X(3872) into the final states J/ψρ and J/ψω is small, X(3872) can contain a sizable I = 1 component.

Tadpole improved Wilson quark actions with clover terms on anisotropic lattices are studied numerically. Using asymmetric lattice volumes, the pseudo-scalar meson dispersion relations are measured for 8 lowest lattice momentum modes with quark mass values ranging from the strange to the charm quark with various values of the gauge coupling β and 3 different values of the bare speed of light parameter ν. These results can be utilized to extrapolate or interpolate to obtain the optimal value for the bare speed of light parameter νopt(m) at a given gauge coupling for all bare quark mass values m. In particular, the optimal values of ν at the physical strange and charm quark mass are given for various gauge couplings. The lattice action with these optimized parameters can then be used to study physical properties of hadrons involving either light or heavy quarks.

We review the domain wall charm physics program of the RBC and UKQCD collaborations based on simulations including ensembles with physical pion mass. We summarise our current set-up and present a status update on the decay constants fD, fDs, the charm quark mass, heavy-light and heavy-strange bag parameters and the ratio ξ

We show that semileptonic and electromagnetic decays involving spin-1/2 doubly heavy bc baryons are very sensitive to hyperfine mixing in their wave functions. We further show how heavy quark spin symmetry relations, obtained in the infinite heavy quark mass limit and near zero recoil, could be used to extract the admixtures in a model independent way from semileptonic decay data. On the other hand the infinite heavy quark mass limit gives wrong predictions in the electromagnetic case.

We study the effective theory of decoupling of a charm quark at low energies. We do this by simulating a model, QCD with two mass-degenerate charm quarks. At leading order the effective theory is a pure gauge theory. By computing ratios of hadronic scales we have direct access to the power corrections in the effective theory. We show that these corrections follow the expected leading behavior, which is quadratic in the inverse charm quark mass.
