With the arrival of several new players, Indian retail has become one of the most dynamic and fast industries. With the advancement in technology, internet, engineering, many retailers are adopting and using the internet of things, big data technology, RFID, and other technical software and programs to enhance customer experience, customer engagement through which retailers are improving efficiency. In particular, many customer-oriented internet of things technologies, such as augmented reality, smart shopping carts, smart displays, and RFID tags, are expected to change the way customers experience retail shopping. For this study, the secondary data has been explored and studied. The purpose of this chapter is to study how emerging technologies like big data and IoT implementation are transforming organizational practices and thereby generating potential benefits in the retail industry.

This study attempts to study the evolution of the Internet of Things (IoT) and its implications on the business environment in terms of understanding consumer behaviour and enhancing customer satisfaction through a literature review. A literature search is carried out focussing on the application of IoT for capturing consumer behaviour and enhancing customer experience and satisfaction. NVivo is used to identify the themes of the selected studies and cluster them based on the closeness of themes. It is found that the increasing quest for customer centricity and sustainability in an ever-changing technology environment have made businesses realize the potential benefits of IoT in terms of differentiation and competitive advantage. The perceived benefits influence IoT acceptance and customer satisfaction. However, the perceived risk associated with IoT in terms of privacy and security is a significant challenge for businesses. The future of IoT is based on how businesses are going to mitigate this challenge. While most of the studies suggest frameworks concerning IoT adoption and customer satisfaction in particular sectors or products, this study is unique in a way that it summarizes those studies and gives a brief view of IoT adoption to enhance customer satisfaction across different sectors, products and services.

The emergence of new digital industrial technology, known as Industry 4.0, has a positiveimpact on the performance of the supply chain. Warehouses are a basic part of the supply chain;they are used to store products and manage the inventory level. A sound warehouse managementsystem can lead to cost reduction and also can improve customer satisfaction. Traditionalwarehouse management models have become less efficient and unsuitable for today’s increasingmarket requirements. For the past decades, information and communication technology has beenused for warehouse management. This paper presents a new approach for warehouse managementby utilizing one of the main pillars of Industry 4.0, the Internet of Things. This new technologyenables the connection of several objects through collecting real-time data and sharing them; theresulting information can then be used to support automated decision-making. The architecture ofthis application is illustrated and its potential benefits are overviewed. A framework is proposed toimplement this approach in warehousing management, which can help in providing real-timevisibility of everything in the warehouse, increasing speed and efficiency, and preventing inventoryshortage and counterfeiting. This proposal gives an effective roadmap for enterprises to improvetheir warehouses by using the Internet of Things.

The existing stand-alone multimedia machines and online multimedia machines in the market have certain deficiencies, so they cannot meet the actual needs. Based on this, this research combines the actual needs to design and implement a multi-media system based on the Internet of Things and cloud service platform. Moreover, through in-depth research on the MQTT protocol, this study proposes a message encryption verification scheme for the MQTT protocol, which can solve the problem of low message security in the Internet of Things communication to a certain extent. In addition, through research on the fusion technology of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence, this research designs scheme to provide a LightGBM intelligent prediction module interface, MQTT message middleware, device management system, intelligent prediction and push interface for the cloud platform. Finally, this research completes the design and implementation of the cloud platform and tests the function and performance of the built multimedia system database. The research results show that the multimedia database constructed in this paper has good performance.
