A 79-year-old woman with a fistula between a subphrenic abscess and the fundus of the stomach was successfully treated withn-Butyl-2-Cyanoacrylate. Conservative management had failed. Clinical presentation, treatment progress and imaging findings by computed tomography scan, ultrasound, gastroscopy and fluoroscopy are presented, along with a brief review of the relevant literature.

Gallbladder perforation still continues to perplex surgeons; 25 such patients diagnosed either pre- or intra-operatively and managed at our institute over the last 10 years period were analysed. Only eight were diagnosed pre-operatively, while a large majority (17) had a wrong initial working diagnosis. Symptoms and signs were variable. No blood investigation was specific. A computed tomography scan was generally better than ultrasound in detecting the perforation. All our cases were managed operatively with no mortality and a mean duration of hospital stay of 6.8 days. Most perforations were extra-hepatic (84%) and those of Niemeier’s type I (52.2%). Because of its varied clinical presentation, gallbladder perforation is often an intra-operative diagnosis, but early intervention carries a good outcome.

We describe imaging findings of a oesophageal liposarcoma in a 66 year old man. The computed tomography scan was performed after a chest radiograph showed a large posterior mediastinal mass. Oesophageal liposarcomas are rare tumours. They can achieve large size before they become symptomatic. Our patient was successfully managed with complete surgical removal.

Juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma is a benign vascular tumor seen predominantly in adolescent males in the second decade of life. Extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma includes vascular fibrous masses that occur outside the nasopharynx. The diagnosis of an angiofibroma is based on the clinical presentation and imaging, with biopsies being avoided to avoid excessive bleeding. Computed tomography scan is considered sufficient for the diagnosis of extranasopharyngeal angiofibroma as it clearly delineates and identifies the tumor.

We present two cases of systemic arterial supply to lung without sequestration diagnosed confidently based on imaging findings on computed tomography scan, thereby obviating the need for invasive diagnostic procedures.
