This paper presents a novel approach to assess the stability of fuzzy neural networks. First, we propose a new condition for the stability of fuzzy neural networks. Second, a new stability condition based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) is presented for fuzzy neural networks. These conditions also ensure asymptotic stability without external input.

This paper is concerned with the stability problem of a class of discrete-time stochastic fuzzy neural networks with mixed delays. New Lyapunov-Krasovskii functions are proposed and free weight matrices are introduced. The novel sufficient conditions for the stability of discrete-time stochastic fuzzy neural networks with mixed delays are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness and benefits of the proposed method.

In this paper, the stability and periodicity of memristor-based neural networks with time-varying delays are studied. Based on linear matrix inequalities, differential inclusion theory and by constructing proper Lyapunov functional approach and using linear matrix inequality, some sufficient conditions are obtained for the global exponential stability and periodic solutions of memristor-based neural networks. Finally, two illustrative examples are given to demonstrate the results.

Some sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of cellular neural networks with time delay are derived using the Lyapunov–Krasovskii stability theory for functional differential equations as well as the linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. The analysis shows how some well-known results can be refined and generalized in a straightforward manner. Moreover, the stability criteria obtained are delay-independent. They are less conservative and restrictive than those reported so far in the literature, and provide a more general set of criteria for determining the stability of delayed cellular neural networks.

The problem of the global asymptotic stability for a class of neural networks with time-varying delays is investigated in this paper, where the activation functions are assumed to be neither monotonic, nor differentiable, nor bounded. By constructing suitable Lyapunov functionals and combining with linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, new global asymptotic stability criteria about different types of time-varying delays are obtained. It is shown that the criteria can provide less conservative result than some existing ones. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed approach.

The stability analysis of global asymptotic stability of neural networks of neutral type with both discrete interval delays and general activation functions is discussed. New delay-dependent conditions are obtained by using more general Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals. Meanwhile, these conditions are expressed in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI) and can be verified using the MATLAB LMI toolbox. Numerical examples are used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Timely diagnosis of Alzheimer's diseases(AD) is crucial to obtain more practical treatments. In this paper, a novel approach Based on Multi-Level Fuzzy Neural Networks (MLFNN) for early detection of AD is proposed. The focus of study was on the problem of diagnosing AD and MCI patients from healthy people using MLFNN and selecting the best feature(s) and most compatible classification algorithm. In this way, we achieve an excellent performance using only a single feature i.e. MMSE score, by fitting the optimum algorithm to the best area using optimum possible feature(s) namely one feature for a real life problem. It can be said, the proposed method is a discovery that help patients and healthy people get rid of painful and time consuming experiments. Experiments shows the effectiveness of proposed method in current research for diagnosis of AD with one of the highest performance (accuracy rates of 96.6%), ever reported in the literature.

In this paper, the problem of global asymptotic stability in the mean square for stochastic fuzzy cellular neural networks (SFCNN) with time-varying delays is investigated. By constructing a newly proposed Lyapunov-Krasovskii function (LKF) and using Ito’s stochastic stability theory, a novel delay-dependent stability criterion is derived. The obtained stability result is helpful to design the stability of fuzzy cellular neural networks (FCNN) with time-varying delays when stochastic noise is taken into consideration. Since it is presented in terms of a linear matrix inequality (LMI), the sufficient condition is easy to be checked efficiently by utilizing some standard numerical packages such as the LMI Control Toolbox in Matlab. Finally, an illustrate example is given to verify the feasibility and usefulness of the proposed result.
