Allium sultanae-ismailii Yıldırım (Amaryllidaceae) is described here as a new species. Diagnostic morphological characters, a full description, and detailed illustrations are given herein. A. sultanae-ismailii is restricted to Mt. Akbabaçalı in Darende district of Malatya province in eastern Anatolia, Turkey. According to its morphological features, it belongs to Allium subgen. Melanocrommyum sect. Melanocrommyum. It shows morphological similarities with A. purpureoviride, which belong to the same subgenus and section. However, it is easily distinguished from this latter species by the dark purple tepals, shorter stem, initially stellate perianth segments, longer style, undivided and very short tripartite stigma, and distribution at higher altitudes.

Bellevalia pseudolongipes (Asparagaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Siirt province in South Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. Diagnostic morphological characters, a full description and detailed illustrations are provided. It is morphologically similar to B. longipes but easily differs in both several morphological characters and chromosome number. The somatic chromosome number was determined as 2n = 12 in B. pseudolongipes.

Campanula leblebicii Yıldırım (Campanulaceae) is described here as a new species. Diagnostic morphological characters, a full description, and detailed illustrations are given herein. C. leblebicii is restricted to the Çaldede Mountain in Kemalpaşa district of İzmir Province in western Anatolia, Turkey. According to its morphological features, it belongs to Campanula L. subgenus Campanula section Rupestres (Boiss.) Charadze. It shows morphological and ecological similarities with C. mugeana Yıldırım, belonging to C. section Quinqueloculares (Boiss.) Phitos., and to C. koyuncui Duman and C. teucrioides Boiss. belonging to C. section Rupestres. However, C. leblebicii is easily distinguished from these taxa, especially by its glabrous habit; stigma, 3-lobed, and capsule, open by 3 basal valves, shiny, and never concealing by enlarged appendages (from C. mugeana); smaller calyx appendages; capsule never hidden by enlarged calyx appendages, and habitat phyllite-schistose rocks (from C. koyuncui); entire leaves, calyx appendages minute, never enlarged after anthesis (from C. teucrioides).

Bellevalia behcetii (Asparagaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species from Şırnak province in South Eastern Anatolia (Turkey). It is morphologically similar to B. paradoxa but easily differs in several morphological characters. Diagnostic morphological characters, a full description and detailed illustrations of the new species are provided. A quantitative morphometric analysis was carried out to check the diagnostic characters of Bellevalia behcetii with respect to morphologically related species. The somatic chromosome number was determined as 2n = 2x = 8 in B. behcetii. In addition, the ecology and phenology of the new species, as well as its etymology and the pollen characteristics, are presented and discussed. The conservation status of B. behcetii was assessed according to IUCN protocol. A distribution map of B. behcetii and related species is also presented.

Pternopetalum paucifoliolatum, a new species from Sixigou Scenic Area, Emeishan City, Sichuan Province, is proposed and described. Diagnostic morphological characters, full description, detailed illustrations, and a distribution map are provided. The new species is similar to P. porphyronotum in possessing the 1-pinnate leaves and the abaxially purple-red leaflets, but differs from the latter by shorter stature, fewer leaflets ((1–) 3–7) and rays (5–8), the leaflet margin white-ciliate. The new species, which is assessed as Critically Endangered (CR), was only found on limestone cliffs. We also provide a new key to the species of Pternopetalum.

Matthiola shiraziana, a new species from Iran, is described and illustrated. It is compared with the closely related M. flavida Boiss. and M. ovatifolia (Boiss.) Boiss. A full description and detailed stereomicroscopic micrographs and diagnostic morphological features are provided on the basis of the specimens housed in several Iranian herbaria.

During this investigation, a new species of Melanoleuca subg. Urticocystis with urticiform cheilocystidia is proposed. The identification is based on morphological characters and molecular phylogenetic analyses using ITS and 28S sequences. A comparison of the morphological features and molecular phylogenetic data with the taxa of subg. Urticocystis confirms the identity of the species as a new taxon. The detailed descriptions, line drawings and phylogenetic results are given.

The new species Diabrotica collicola Cabrera & Cabrera Walsh is described and illustrated based on specimens collected from Balcozna, Catamarca Province (Argentina). A full description is provided and includes adding morphological characters of the mouthparts, hind wing venation, binding patch, metendosternite, and details of male and female genitalia previously overlooked for the genus. Diabrotica collicola is recognized by the following characters: general color parrot green with yellowish vittae, genal space less than 1/4 maximum length of the eye, antennomeres 2 and 3 subequal in males, 3 longer in females, both antennomeres together more than length 1/2 of 4 in both sexes, prothoracic and mesothoracic tarsi of males with ventral adhesive patch, internal sac of the median lobe with four sclerites. Differences with similar species D. mutabilis Baly, D. fulvofasciata Jacoby, D. mapiriensis gussi Krysan & Smith and D. porracea Harold are discussed. A key to D. collicola and similar species is provided.

Alyssum rossetii, a stenoendemic madwort discovered on a mountain slope in the Valpelline valley (northern part of the Aosta Valley in the Pennine Alps), is described here as a new species. It is a perennial that is morphologically close to the Alyssum montanum-A. repens complex, with several hitherto neglected peculiar morphological characters. Here we present a full description of the new taxon, including information on its chromosome number, genome size and ecology, as well as a detailed morphological comparison of the new species with four related taxa occuring in the broader region, namely A. flexicaule, A. montanum, A. orophilum and A. rhodanense. Besides morphological differences, the new species also conspicuously differs from the other taxa in relative monoploid genome size. According to the IUCN Red List categories and criteria, it should be classified as Endangered.

Verbascum duzgunbabadagensis (Scrophulariaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species endemic to eastern Anatolia, Turkey. In this study, diagnostic morphological characters of this and closely related species (V. luciliae and V. rupicola) are discussed. Pollen and seed morphology of the new species and of similar taxa are documented. The seeds of this group are brown in color and oblong in V. luciliae and V. rupicola, whereas they are dark brown in color and ovate in shape in V. duzgunbabadagensis. Furthermore, distribution maps for the three taxa are provided.
