A new species, Polyalthia khaoyaiensis, is proposed based on materials from central Thailand. The species appears most similar to Polyalthia meghalayensis and Polyalthia evecta, differing from these taxa in having shorter pedicels and usually two (rather than one) ovules per carpel. From P. meghalayensis it differs further in absence of a claw from the inner petals. The new species is described and illustrated. The conservation status of the species is considered and it is given an assessment of Least Concern (LC), as it is locally common in the hill evergreen forest of Khao Yai National Park.

Males and females of Sergentomyia phasukae sp. nov., S. bailyi (Sinton), and S. barraudi (Sinton), and females of S. gomboki (Lewis & Wharton) and Phlebotomus (Euphlebotomus) sp. (Diptera, Psychodidae, Phlebotominae) were collected by Malaise traps and CDC traps in Khao Yai National Park, central Thailand. A new species is described and illustrated, collection records for described species are given, and some taxonomic problems concerning the subgenera of Sergentomyia are discussed.

A new species of Parachute Gecko, Ptychozoon kaengkrachanense sp. nov., is described from montane evergreen forest in Kaeng Krachan National Park, western Thailand. It differs from all known Ptychozoon species by having three dark dorsal chevrons between limbs insertions, homogeneous dorsal scalation without enlarged scales, original tail without long terminal flap, supranasals widely in contact, a continuous series of 14–19 enlarged precloacofemoral scales, bearing 13–17 pores in males, the absence of a predigital notch in the preantebrachial cutaneous expansion and the presence of cutaneous expansions on sides of head. It is the eighth species described in the genus and the only species of Ptychozoon endemic to Thailand.

Schedolimulus komatsui Kanao & Maruyama, n. sp. (Aleocharinae, Trichopseniini) is described from Khao Yai National Park, East Thailand. This is a new record of Trichopseniini from Thailand. Phorilimulus Pasteels & Kistner, 1971 is synonymized with Schedolimulus Pasteels & Kistner, 1971, and Schedolimulus is redescribed. Phorilimulus minutus Pasteels & Kistner, 1971 is transferred to Schedolimulus. A key to the species of Schedolimulus is given.

A new species of freshwater crab of the genus Potamonemus Cumberlidge & Clark, 1992, is described from Mount Manengouba Reserve and the Bakossi National Park in the tropical rainforests of southwestern Cameroon, Central Africa. Potamonemus man n. sp. is recognized by characters of the carapace and chelipeds. In addition, a phylogenetic analysis based on partial sequences of three mitochondrial DNA genes (COI, 12S rRNA, and 16S rRNA) that included representatives of all other freshwater crab genera found in Cameroon recovered each of the new species as a distinct lineage. A diagnosis and illustrations of the new species are provided, and it is compared to the other species in this genus. Brief notes are provided on the ecology of the new species and the two other species of Potamonemus. An identification key to the species of Potamonemus is provided and its conservation status discussed.

We describe and illustrate Wahlenbergia itatiaiensis, a new species of Campanulaceae, endemic to the Itatiaia National Park in the Atlantic Forest (Brazil). The new species is compared with W. linarioides, the sympatric and morphologically most similar species, and to W. intermedia. Wahlenbergia itatiaiensis is mainly distinguished by the linear to lanceolate leaves with few, short denticles along the margin, 3-locular ovary, and 3-lobed stigma. An identification key for these species is provided. The new species occurs on sandy and rocky, wet soils, adjacent to dirt roadsides of the upper part of the National Park. Detailed comments on the distribution and conservation status, as well as details of morphological variation and photographs are provided.

Two new species of the subfamily Coelotinae (Araneae, Amaurobiidae) are described from Thailand. Coelotes suthepicus sp. n. (% & ) was recorded from an evergreen hill forest near the summit of Doi Pui, northern Thailand. Asiacoelotes sparus sp. n. (%) was collected from a lower montane rain forest on Khao Khieo, Khao Yai National Park, central Thailand. The genus Asiacoelotes Wang, 2002 is reported from this country for the first time, where it presumably reaches its southernmost zoogeographical boundary. Additional specimens of C. thailandensis Dankittipakul & Wang, 2003 are collected from Doi Inthanon National Park; the female of this species is described here; variation in male palpal structure is illustrated. Males of Draconarius monticola Dankittipakul, Sonthichai & Wang, 2005 are collected and described from Doi Chiang Dao.

AbstractThe phylogeny of foliicolous taxa in Pilocarpaceae was reconstructed using Bayesian and maximum likelihood analyses of concatenated ITS and mtSSU sequences. Sixty-six new partial sequences representing 36 taxa were generated and 29 sequences were downloaded from GenBank. Our results indicate that Lasioloma R. Sant. is nested within a paraphyletic Calopadia Vězda, whereas Fellhanera Vězda is polyphyletic and the phylogenetic relationships of Eugeniella Lücking et al. and Sporopodium Mont. with Fellhanera require further investigation. In addition, Tapellaria parvimuriformis W. C. Wang & J. C. Wei is described as a new species from Khao Yai National Park, Thailand, and is characterized by its small muriform ascospores, grey campylidia with a pale base, and short conidia. Eight new records of foliicolous lichens for Thailand are also listed.

Parasopubia raghavendrae, a new species of Orobanchaceae is described from the southern Western Ghats of Kerala. It resembles P. delphinifolia and P. hofmannii var. hofmannii by its habit, shape, colour and hairiness of corolla lobes but differs by length of calyx tube, hairiness of staminal filaments and stomium, and shape and ornamentation of seeds. Parasopubia raghavendrae is hitherto known only from the type locality Mathikettan Shola National Park in Idukki district, Kerala. Detailed description of the new species along with colour photographs and comparison with its closely similar species are given. We also assessed provisionally the conservation status of the new species as Critically Endangered (CR) according to IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria.

A new species of Fibuloides Kuznetsov (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae: Eucosmini), Fibuloides khaonanensis Pinkaew, is described and illustrated based on male specimens collected from evergreen forest in Khao Nan National Park, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, Thailand. Eucoenogenes bicucullus Pinkaew and Eucoenogenes vaneeae Pinkaew, described from male and female specimens collected from Thong Pha Phum National Park, Thailand, are transferred to Fibuloides (n. comb).

During a taxonomic study of Eriosema in Brazil, a new species was discovered from the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, Goiás State. Eriosema elegans is herein described and illustrated and its morphological affinities with related species discussed. The geographical distribution, conservation status, and information about flowering and fruiting are provided. Also, a study of secretory structures of leaflets of the new species and the morphologically related species E. glabrum was carried out.
